Water in MN? seriously though, there are lakes all over. There aren't a ton close to us but within a decent distance there are swimming beaches and larger lakes. The closest body of water to our apartment is a smaller river and my work is really close to the Mississippi River.

We are close to lakes and about 1 1/2 hours from the Pacific ocean. We used to be 30 min from the ocean and my dad has lived within 10 minutes or less of the ocean most of my life.

Haha when I opened this I thought 'water in Oklahoma?'
So no, not really. There are some bodies of water over on the east side of the state, but I live on the west side.

Ha.. funny we had the same thought but obviously different answers! There are so many lakes/ponds/rivers/etc here it's insane. Especially as you go north. The southwestern part of the state doesn't have that much (that area reminds me of Iowa, pretty flat). I can't remember the number, but the "land of 10,000 lakes" is really like 11,000 something. Someday I hope to live on one of them!
The muddy Mississippi- not exactly a shining star! I'd rather have ocean.
You should come up to MN and see the headwaters at Lake Itasca - the Mississippi starts out so little and clear! It's not so pretty by the time it gets to where I live though, lol.
In BC? Water is everywhere. So many lakes and streams to swim in. It takes me 10-15 minutes to get to the closest beach, in the summer, in thee winter it would be closer to 5-10 but who swims in the winter? Lol. We are defiantly a tourist area.
