There was no note! But thank you, I love it. And I extra love buying local!
yay! Did you get the strainer too?
Ok now this makes sense, you sent that too. It came in an Amazon box with a bunch of other stuff I ordered and I was all, huh? I thought it was a bottle-deep purchase. Lol. Thank you! Wtf Amazon, your shipping is getting cray.

omg. I'm sorry I sucked so bad as a ss. I swear I'm not normally like that.
I've been meaning to message you and rikki, DS and I are flying in to Midway with DH but then my dad is picking us up so we can spend the weekend in MI while DH is at his conference and then we fly back with DH. I was trying to figure out a way to have a Chicago gtg but I don't think it will work this trip. We are back that way pretty often, so I'll get to meet you guys someday!
Goddammit I bought the sheets @pnkybrwstr recommended thanks to my target thread, you assholes!
what sheets by the way? I need new sheets. @pnkybrwstr
I think they are the threshold performance ones. At least someone recommended them and I bought them with my BF target gc and so far have really liked them. I think one more wash and they will be perfect.
Our 2nd opinion appointment was scheduled for last Friday, but cancelled due to the snow. We were going to be driving through rush hour traffic to get there, and it took my husband 2 hrs to drive about 15 miles to work. So it's a good thing we didn't chance it, as we would have had to tack on at least an additional hour and been late anyway.
At his best DS has tested at the lowest end of normal, which is on the fence for hearing aids in childhood. I'm not sure he's any worse than that, which is what more specialized testing would show us. (Only the better ear picks up in the booth, so you're always unsure when going that route. He didn't cooperate with the test where they insert ear buds.) I just sense he's more aware of sounds/speech over the past month. Speech therapy may have helped him to keep his "ears open", per se. His hearing has definitely improved since tubes were inserted back in July, so he may just need practice remembering to hear.
So really, I don't know. There's a chance he may still need amplification, but I don't think he has a severe or moderate issue. If anything, it's just mild. The audiologist at Yale told us for some mild cases, they just use a special FM amplification system in school, and don't wear aids otherwise.
I'm much more at peace with it all. Early on I was so stressed. But he's communicating more, even if he's not using many true words, yet. We're moving forward. He has a few solid signs that he'll use on his own, or when prompted. (Eat, all done, more, sometimes he'll do milk, banana, and cracker.)
I need to call today and reschedule his 2nd opinion, and confirm when his return visit at Yale is. If Yale is sooner than when we can get in for our 2nd opinion, we'll keep that appointment and then figure things out.
More than anything, I'm so thankful he's a very happy kiddo. (In general.) It makes the frustrations of not being able to communicate well, a bit easier to deal with. But we are starting to enter that phase where he knows what he wants, and doesn't want to accept "no" for an answer. So there's certainly more feet stomping and resistance right now. That might be easier to navigate if he could talk.
@choco - any name for DS2 yet? Do you still own your condo/house in NY?
pugz and @starry - any name ideas being thrown around on your ends (I know you aren't pg yet...)
Sadly, yes we still have that co-op in NY. Our plan is to sell it this year since I will be on unpaid maternity leave and it will help. Plus, our tenant just got engaged and I don't want to keep the co-op if she decides to leave us, lol. Thankfully, her lease isn't up until November so we have some time!
Still no names for DS2, poor kid. The list keeps growing though. I have no idea why it's so much harder this time around. Care to weigh in? The only name with any slight meaning is Nicholas, which was my grandfather's name. Since I didn't know him that well I don't have a super attachment to the name. DS1 wants to name his brother Charlie, from the Mighty Ducks movies . I like the name but we need at least two syllables since our last name is only one, so that's out.
Harrison Nicholas Brian Warren Greyson Gabriel Anderson
I hope it sells quickly! Harrison is on my boy list as well so that get's my vote, but I like all of them and think they go well with DS1's name.
anna7602 - how is BF'ing going? I'm still completely in awe of you for pushing through all you did in the beginning.
KaraOrNot - how's Ollie doing? Any new cute pics to share?
Ollie is doing rely good. Despite all the health issues, he is a super happy baby. Although, he has his moments, like when he pulled out his feeding tube yesterday. Little stinker!

@gracechen - Do you watch Master Chef Junior? I want to know if you saw Joe get slammed with pies by little kids yesterday. It was AWESOME. You must go watch if you haven't.

Is there a new season? We stumbled upon the last episodes before the holidays, and DD's new goal in life is to be on Master Chef Junior.

Yes, I think it started a few weeks ago? You might be able to find them on demand. I am in awe of these kids - they cook things I could only dream of cooking. I hope your DD tries out!

It's going well! Yay! I even built up my freezer stash to a moderate amount again. Oh, and I'm off the restricted no-yeast diet. It feels amazing to be able to eat normally again.
Nosy question for anyone who's divorced. Do you and your ex have any sort of agreement -- formal or informal -- to live close to each other (say, within 50 or 100 miles or something) so that both parents get to see their kids regularly without it being too much of a hassle?
don't know who to tag other than greencrayon, who sounds like she doesn't have anything like that.

My divorced parents agreed to stay in the same county. I don't know if that was a verbal or written agreement.
