That stuff is amazing. And to think, I almost tossed it when I was cleaning my medicine cabinet. I woke up with an awful bug. After spending the morning doubled over, hugging porcelain....Eureka! I have Ondansetron leftover from epic morning sickness.
I hope all the BFP ladies are doing well! Remember the Zofran if you're feeling queasy (w/Colace, always w/Colace).
ETA: I'll drop this here since I didn't officially declare it, but I'M DONE PUMPING!!! Still BFing and using up the freezer stash. But it's glorious - I hated washing all that stuff.
Note to Narcs lurking: I do not abuse these drugs or share them. But sometimes, when you're alone with a baby and have a stomach bug, you've just got to pop some ondansetron!

Congrats on the end of pumping!!! It was seriously life changing for me when dd transitioned to WCM for daycare. THEY have the sippies there! No washing! OMG. Congrats!!!
I was given some Vicodin after a car accident, and I still have like 19 of 20 pills. You never know when you'll need them. What if we end up in a Walking Dead situation? My survivor group can start out with VICODIN, yo.
OMG, I've totally thought this (DH and I are 3 episodes into season 5). I've got two full vials of antibiotics and a lot of oxycodone from my shoulder surgery. I'll get rid of them eventually but you never know if you might need them. God forbid I dislocate again.
zofran saved fortmyersbride and @kcpokergal from simultaneously puking in my car at a gtg last fall, lol.
Yeah, that almost got ugly! Between using it for MS, motion sickness, and migraines, I think I have a stash in my car, purses, diaper bags, travel bags, etc. The ODTs are the best
And, since my kids get bad motion sickness too (wilted) I have some in their bags too

oh man I did not stock pile painkillers! But I do have xanax, maybe that will help??
Yay Zofran! I have some left over from an ectopic pregnancy and first tri of successful pregnancy. I also have phenergan and under the tongue Zofran or phenergan (I can't remember). Anyone know how long the drugs are still good?
OMG it never occurred to me to use this. Do you mean like the stomach flu? Are there any significant problems with using this on occasion for this reason?
I am way more excited than I probably should be for this information. Yay Zofran!!
Also, yay for being done pumping!! I hate cleaning parts too.
I have never been prescribed zofran for any stomach bug, even when I went to the ER for IV fluids because I was puking so much I passed out. I've always been given phenergan. and I haven't needed anything for pregnancy.

To answer your subject line question, I think because it's really expensive. My mom gets Zofran to help her with nausea from chemo. IIRC, she had to try compazine first and have it not work before insurance would cover ondansetron. Fortunately she's getting the good stuff now.
The ER doc gave me an Rx for ondansetron a couple years ago to help with nausea from pain meds, after a bike crash. I've since cleaned the leftover narcotics AND the ondansetron out of the medicine cabinet. Tactical error on my part.
