DD has regressed with PTing and refuses to poop on the potty. She seems to be pretty constipated, and is painful for her to push it out. Poor girl was working so hard on it this morning, and crying the whole time, I just felt terrible for her.
So, what can I do for her? Prune juice? Laxatives? She's kind of on a food strike, so I don't know what foods I can give her that will help and she'll actually eat.

Our pedi recommended that we give DD half of a cap of Miralax daily. We started off with a little less than half of a cap every other day and it seems to be working well, so I'm not increasing it at this point.
My 3 yr old has serious issues with this too. We sometimes give Miralax or have to do the suppository I just bought some fiber gummies so I hope that will help too. Prunes sometimes do the trick.
Her current three food groups are: Rice, Cheese, and Crackers. MOTY over here.
I have a friend who's daughter is terrified to poop, and has stretched out her colon (is it the colon? whatever) so she gets so incredibly backed up that she can't poop. She will go for WEEKS without pooping, and they now have to "shrink" her colon, but its a vicious cycle of being too afraid to poop, etc. Obviously that is an extreme case, but its in the back of my mind and I don't want something like that to happen.

I'm in the same boat as you. Our 4 year old daughter suddenly started to have small poop accidents in her undies a few weeks ago and DH and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out she's really constipated. Pharmacist recommended half a capful Mirlax mixed w/ grape juice so she doesn't know it's in there. We're on day two, and waiting for the floodgates to open. It can take three days or so for the Mirlax to work. I also bought some Fiber One bars for her to eat with breakfast. A bar has 9 grams of fiber, which is what she should be getting per day.
