We tried the newborn napper in the PNP. I decided after one night that M didn't like it, so we moved him to the RNP. In retrospect, a two day old probably just isn't going to sleep that much! So the PNP is definitely an option.
We had M in the RNP until we moved him yo the crib at 10w. He slept fine (but not great) in the RNP.
We have every baby containment device possible, but she sleeps pretty well in there, and I'm hoping the fact that she already sleeps on a flat surface will make the crib transition a little easier.
She does love hanging out in her RNP, though (and sleeps great in that, too...we bought it for traveling).
C is almost 2 months and has slept in the bassinet part of the PNP at the end of our bed since birth. I plan to keep him in our room until he is 4 months, but that might change as he gets bigger- we'll see.

DS slept in his RnP next to the bes dor the first 2 weeks and then in the newborn insert of his PnP next to the bed for another 2 weeks. Now he is in his crib and sleeps 11 to 4 normally.
My husband is big on "safe sleep" so he was opposed to the RnP and the PnP newborn napper. My son sleeps in the bassinet level of the PnP, which is pulled right next to my side of the bed.
DD was in her crib in her room from the first night onward. There isn't much space between the bedrooms so we could easily hear her when she started to fuss (and we never had to worry about how to transition her from some other device to the crib).
I had planned to let DS sleep in his crib from the beginning. That did not happen. He slept in his RnP next to our bed. A few nights we also tried a travel PnP.
Am I the only one whose kiddos wouldn't sleep anywhere but attached to a boob for the first month? Both Lu and Ella slept next to me for the first 4-6 weeks and then next to our bed (Lu was in a co-sleeper and Ella a rock n play) until four months when we moved them to the crib/their own room. I think SID prevention advice is to co-sleep for at least six months, but we were done by four and all slept better with the kids out of the room.
Nope. Me too. Both babies slept in my bed from day 1.

Mine too. We tried the Co sleeper with J with no success. It was our bed or no sleep. The girls would start the night in the rnp but always ended up in our bed. The girls are still in my bed after the first wake up though.
We moved B's crib into our room and he slept there for 6 months. (He started sleeping in the crib when he was a couple of days old.)
In Canada the "official" rules are very strict (essentially crib or bust) and my H wanted to follow the rules to the letter because he was hugely anxious about SIDS.
I was the same way in terms of things like swings and RNP…the swing was fine for naps because I was there, 'watching' but I refuse to use a RNP or let her sleep in the swing over night.
Everywhere? She slept on our chests, next to us, in her swing, in her car seat, etc. DH & I also were rotating everywhere- sleeping on the couch or on the twin bed in her room or in the guest room or in our room depending on who was on baby duty or needed sleep. We tried her in the RNP in our room, but that was never a regular thing. She was SO grunty and loud. She slept in her crib pretty early on if I remember correctly?
In your situation, I would set up the PNP in your room and leave the crib where it is.
I was worried about tripping over it and knocking it over but it hasn't happened and I don't think it will. It's pretty sturdy. It may move if you hit it with your body but it wont fall over.
I really preferred to have him sleep on a flat surface so we started with the bassinet. He would end up sleeping on us or in the bouncer. So I broke down at 1 week and ordered the RNP. He sleeps great in it next to our bed. Worth it.
I bed shared fully until about 6 weeks, then they started out the night in a cradle next to my bed and I'd bring them into bed the first time they woke up. Gradually I started putting them back after feedings until they were in the cradle all night. Then when they outgrew the cradle (3-4 months) I started putting them in the crib in their room.

We used the RNP flat bassinet near my side of the bed. Her crib was set up already but I liked room-sharing in the beginning. I know people who used the crib from day one and were happy with their decision too.
Wherever they are happiest and easiest for you? I wouldn't over think it. Both of my kids hate the pack n play so that was off the table stat.
DD was in her crib from night 1 on and loved it. No issues. DS rotated between a Moses basket in our room and his crib for the first month. Then it was the swing for like the next 7 months.
I use the pack n play in my room. Did for all the kids til they went to the crib. My 4 month old is still in the pack n play. I need to work on that lol. He still gets up though and the other room is so far away and my warm bed is not there!

DS was in his crib in his room from day one. I did sleep in his room with him for the first couple of days, my hormones made me super emotional about him sleeping in there alone. His room is right next to ours.

The plan was a bassinet or pack & play in our room. The reality - he would only sleep in our arms so that's what we did. My plans of not bed sharing went out the window after we were up until 5am the first night we were home.
