f/u - negative for strep and flu. Oh well, at least I know.
Recall from yesterday, I was in gastrointestinal hell. I'm doing much better today (still a little messed up). But my throat is really sore and I have no other cold symptoms (e.g., coughing, runny nose). There's a big white spot on the back of my throat (looks like a pimple, ew).
Should I get a quick strep test? I was planning on going back to work tomorrow (WFH today).

I mean there is no harm in it. It is pretty quick, think u can get it at teh CVS minute clinic. But typically when I have stress I know like the minute I wake up because it makes me cry to swallow and a fever.
ETA: If you were throwing up, yoru throat is likely sore from that.
When I get strep I get a decent fever (like I had 100 degree fever after taking ibuprofen when I had it the day after Thanksgiving) and chills with the excruciating sore throat. I've had strep 4 times in the past 5 years. Its hell.
I probably wouldn't go unless I was miserable like that. But I don't like paying the doctor.

LOL, Kari
At the request of my boss and CWs, I'm going to get the rapid test at CVS. It's pretty inexpensive and not a big deal. It's probably not strep, but I'll feel better ruling it out (to the extent that test is accurate). I really need to go into the office tomorrow.
