I haven't had a yeast infection since college, but wow, I do not remember it being this awful. I got diflucan from my dr yesterday, but I haven't really noticed an improvement yet. I read it can take 3 days for it to really kick in, but is there anything I can do in the meantime?
Sounds gross, but plain Greek yogurt, preferably full-fat variety. The cold takes the sting away, the fat moisturizes and soothes irritation, and the bacteria help restore balance.
Did you take the one dose pill? That has always alleviated all the discomfort within 24 hours for me. If you don't feel better by tomorrow morning I would call and ask if they want you to get another prescription. Some stubborn infections require two doses.
I did. I will plan to call them tomorrow if I'm still having issues. Will also plan to try the Greek yogurt tonight. Thanks for the suggestions.

Agree.
Also let it air out down there as much as you can. I'll wear loose cotton PJ pants with no undies around the house when needed.
