Had my OB appt and got cleared to run (sex too!)!! Came home and took C with me for a much needed run/walk! Felt so good...and humbling! I have a long ways to go for my half marathon at the beginning of may.
I'm about to make some breaded baked chicken wings for dinner. Yum. My dog is going to go nuts begging. She's been spoiled lately and started to get tubby again, so back on her diet she goes! I'm just cutting back her food slightly.
I hadn't started making dinner yet and DH just called to say he was on his way home and asked if I wanted him to pick up chinese takeout for dinner. Score!
...okay. I was going to do my step video, but PSN was down so I couldn't do it. So instead of shrugging it off and postponing it til tomorrow, I popped in my cardio kick dvd instead. This involved removing shrinkwrap..but I made it through all three 10 minute workouts! Hopefully now that I ripped the bandaid off and did day 1, I can keep it up!
bk1- I am so excited, he said that it will take 4-6 weeks to order the door and then 4-5 hours to take the old one out and put the new one in.
Best part is that MIL and FIL are paying for it.
Our in-laws paid for ours too They had a little luck with extra money that year and bought us all new windows/patio door and got BIL new windows/front door. It was such a huge change!
I miss sleep. Baby has been sick this week which means it's harder to get her down. I can't wait to we are out of this phase.
My new job is a little more laid back than I prefer. I will have to get used to that. I also hate the new OPEN seating concept. I hate not having an assigned desk.

Am I the only weirdo watching Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates? While I know he never discovers anything in any of his shows, I love him and will watch any show he makes.
It is HORRIBLE. Each desk is set up with two huge wide screen monitors. The desk are facing each other and really can't see the person in front of you. Then you have these little movable office cabinets where you store your stuff. Eating I have noticed isn't a big deal. Everyone eats at there desk. I think the only main frustration is coming in and finding a spot and setting up your station. It takes forever for your system to boot because it has to reestablish a network connection. So what used to take like a minute now takes at least 15.
That said I love working in downtown. The buildings are beautiful and this open concept allows for a lot of natural light and access to the view.

What?! I've never heard of that and it would bother me, too. So where do you keep your desk stuff, like files, pens, snacks (you know, the important things, lol)?

They give you a small movable cabinet. They also have lockers but you can't store stuff overnight.
Each night you have to clean off your desk. No personal stuff since your desk could change the next day. Some people seem to have a desk they sit in daily but technically you could take it if you come in before them. First come first serve. It's weird.
jjwritergirlmrssandro What is the benefit to this type of seating arrangement in a professional workplace? (I'm geniunely curious.)
From what I understand is that it builds teamwork and communications with your teams. Especially for a project based environment. Also since most people are remote they don't always need a seat so if they come in once a week they have a seat just not in the same spot. Allowing for more seating and less wasted space. It's the new business world!
Whatever...to add they have this TV (the company programming) and it shows the same thing in a loop all day. It keeps showing this poor dog that was abused and how some employee took the pup under his wing and helped it. Sad but loving story all.day.long ...
This is all new to me. I am used to a much less corporate environment.

mrssandro, I can see that working if people only come in maybe once a week. But I'd still think it'd be a pain to move your stuff everyday. Very interesting, I've never heard of something like that. It would work well for collaborating.
My poor puppy's eye looks bad. He has a rare disease that is making him go blind and has daily eye drops to slow it down. I think he is completely blind in his right eye now. He was just so cuddly when I was outside a min ago. - this is my big half wolf/half husky.
