Nope. But then I am always a no. My mom does quality food control for a chain restaurant and studies all that food stuff, half the time I don't even listen to her. So....probably don't pay attention to me.
7 days is a lot but if hasn't changed color, doesn't smell bad, otherwise look weird you're fine. Vacuum sealing also keeps food fresher longer than traditional Saran Wrap so I'd take a bet on it.
LOL I ate it first, and then came to see how crazy I am. I was even nice enough to give DH a heads up first, and I didn't serve it to N.
Like I said in the OP, it smelled perfectly fine and was in a cryovac package. No discoloration. I didn't know it was expired until I had browned it and put in the crock with the other ingredients and then happened to see the date on the package. So far, so good. I am usually not a dare devil like this, but I could tell by the smell/look that it was okay.
