I think a little part of my love for Seuss does stem from the fact that his "weird" illustrations of trees and other parts of nature were based on what you see in San Diego/southern California and the surrounding deserts. My dad's from SD and I still go there every year to visit family, so those crazy trees in the books remind me of SD and make me smile.
We like Seuss books in our house. The Lorax and If I Ran the Circus were 2 of my favorites growing up. We read them more now that DD is older and enjoys longer books/stories.
Love Fox in Sox. It is a challenge. Haha... Not by Dr. Seuss, but I love the Cat and the Hat learning library books patterned after them. They teach cool facts, and have less annoying rhymes.
