This came up at our preschool tour today, I asked if they have a lot of families that opt out of vaxing (you can exempt for medical and religious reasons in KS) and the director said that it's maybe 2-5 kids out of 230 enrolled, which I thought was really good. Plus those kids have to stay home if there is an outbreak of measles/pertussis/etc. That makes me happy.
One mom was pushing to find out if they could be informed of how many kids in their child's class weren't vaxed but they won't get that specific, just center wide stats.
curious if your preschool/daycare/school releases this info to you.
The state requires you to be vaccinated to be in daycare.
For public school there since conscientious objector BS, but you at least have to go through counseling. Not sure if you can opt out for daycare. The State has been trying to clamp down.
I never asked. We delayed Hep until the kids were older. When they were in preschool I signed a waiver for it, but they had all of their other vaccines. I wonder if we would have been counted as not vaxed.
School-wide stats for licensed preschools are available on our state's health department website, and our school will give it the same info. I don't think our school gives out class by class info.
