I've been in a funky mood the past two days, and I don't know if it's just coming back home and to work after a fun weekend, or something more related to weaning. I cried for a while after a teeny tiny nothing disagreement with H on Wednesday night. And I just feel really off today. Kind of sad and self-conscious for some reason.
Is this a thing? Or am I making this up my head? FWIW, I last nursed on Saturday.
YES. it's been horrible with both DS1 and DS2. I've been angry all the time, really down, extra lazy and unmotivated. Snapping a ton at MH over stuff I don't normally care about. I remember it took a month or two to feel normal after weaning DS1. I'm hopeful it's that way as well this time - it will be a month since the last time he nursed in about a week.

I did not but I'm wondering if that's because my supply hadn't been great for a while. But I have heard from more than enough women that what you're feeling is very common. I hope those feelings disappear soon!
It's definitely a thing. I was pregnant by the time J officially weaned but even just night weaning him before I was pregnant lead to a huge hormone change for me and I felt crazy.
Yes, I did feel really emotional for about a week after. I just felt sad and kind of in a funk. I'm pretty sure it was related to the hormone change. It happened both times I weaned.

Ditto this exactly. When DD weaned, I was 20 weeks pregnant (and she was 2.5, so my supply was pretty non-existent by then anyway) and did not have a big hormone crash, but when we night weaned AND when she dropped from nursing a lot during the day to only nursing in the morning and evenings, I was a hormonal wreck.
