I got my dream ring for our five year anniversary. We got married while in school. My H is VERY pragmatic and really wanted to get the best possible stone he could for the money (all the C's, ya know?). I love him for being like that, so I was on board. He picked a fabulous solitaire when we got engaged, and always promised by 5 years it would be reset in to what was my dream setting. I never even got a wedding band because I wanted it to match what I had in the future. Well, the boy pulled through and actually got the matching wedding band. I was quite surprised and he had it made by the deadline he had set.
wanderingenough That's a beautiful setting! Did you design it yourself?
Thank you! Ritani makes something very similar which is where I first saw it years ago and fell in love. But with the Ritani one you pay a good bit extra just for the name, so he had one made just like it.

I of course love the ring H picked out because he did such a great job. It proves he knows me well because it was a good price, it had the cut I wanted (princess) and it was just a little unique. However, if money weren't an object, I would have loved something like this, except maybe princess cut :
I would get something similar to what I have. I would love to keep a canary yellow center diamond - I would just get it bigger. I would probably find something with a little more vintage feel to it. And I would get a band that matches.
Our wedding bands don't match my engagement ring at all so I have only worn it on our wedding day.
I've been trying to talk H into an upgrade, but he feels sentimental about my ring and isn't sure he wants me to upgrade. I have a quad halo, and I'd really like to get the same sort of design with one large stone instead of four small stones in the center.
