I wore several dresses from Target that were not maternity for the beginning and middle few months. I also had a few shirts from the Loft that held up really well. The Target maternity shorts were junk and didn't last. I also had two pairs of motherhood slacks. They started piling. I never did jeans. My sister gave me a few tops too.
I think I have 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants, maybe 10 shirts a few dresses. I wore a lot of my longer non-maternity shirts for awhile. I also wear hospital provided scrubs everyday at work so I didn't need a lot of clothes.
Mostly Kohl's and Target. A few dresses, tops, and leggings from A Pea in the Pod. I had a few shirts and jeans from Gap and Old Navy. The stuff from Kohl's and Gap held up the best by far.
I had a lot of stuff, probably way too much. I just cleaned the maternity clothes out of my closet this week actually (had baby in Nov), and filled two big totes :/ I guess I won't have to buy much for next time at least.
I had 2 pairs of jeans, one pair of dress pants, maybe 8 tops? I was hugely pregnant in winter, so i had a couple maternity sweaters and long sleeved tees.
Fortunately, most of my longer non-maternity tops and tanks fit, so I could get away with wearing those and a cardigan so I didn't have to buy a ton of new stuff.
Gap, old Navy, target and then pea in the pod because I happened to start showing around the time they had a huge clearance sale and it was buy one get one 50% off. Also I had 2 pairs of the maternity minnie pants from J crew when they had a discount code running.

Consignment. I had 4 pair of pants, though only 2 in regular rotation at any given time (some were bigger than others). I also had around a dozen shirts and 2 dresses.
I was given around a dozen nursing bras and tanks by my SIL, which ended up fitting pretty well during pregnancy and postpartum.
I was also able to wear a lot of my non-maternity skirts, dresses, and stretchy knit tops for most of my pregnancy.
When I was pregnant with my first Loft still had their regular maternity line so I had a lot from there, although most were work clothes. Then it was a mix of Gap and Target with a few fun pieces from a local boutique (Krista K for Chicago peeps) thrown in. I liked Japanese Weekend and Olian.
Mostly Old Navy and Motherhood. I also found some cute things at Ross, and a pair of jeans from a consignment store. I liked the Old Navy jeans I got but the tops did not hold up well (even compared to regular ON stuff).

My favorite jeans are from Macy's (Indigo Blue brand)- they've held up really well. I've gotten a bunch of tops from Old Navy and some from Kohls. I haven't needed anything nicer than jeans because I work from home.

Mostly Gap, Old Navy, Target, and Shade (which closed after DD was born). I can wear jeans to work, so I don't need nice stuff. With DD, I could wear non-maternity shirts for almost the entire pregnancy...not so much with this one, plus I'm a smaller pants size now, so I'm still ending up buying a bunch even though I'm due at the same time as I was before.
Old Navy, Motherhood Maternity and Gap. The second time, most of the new pieces I bought were maternity-to-nursing wear from brands like Japanese Weekend and a French brand called "Baloon" that I could keep wearing post-partum.
I bought the bare minimum. I don't want to spend a ton on temporary clothing. I bought 3 pairs of work pants, 2 pairs of jeans, maybe 10-12 shirts. I was able to save some money by buying maternity tanks and layering them under open cardigans and sweaters I already owned.
My pants/jeans were Kohls, Gap and Target. Yoga pants and leggings at ON were fine but not their regular pants. JCP stuff ran tiny, but they're one of only a few places that carry plus sizes. Shirts were Kohls, ON and Target with a few Gap ones mixed in. Dresses - I wore dresses to work 3-4x/week - were ON, Target and Gap. I had a lot of non-maternity clothes that fit all the way to the end though. The dress I wore in a pic I took at 39w was not maternity and I gave birth 4 days later.

Old Navy has been my favorite for tops. My pants are from Kohls mostly. I have a couple from Target I don't really like because the band is so short and doesn't stay in place at all.
