It's possible for a cat to get hemorrhoids, right? Our older cat has a growth on her butt and we are guessing that might be what it is. Have to try and find a vet since we don't have one here yet. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Could it be a problem w her anal gland? Does she seem to be in pain? If it is a problem w her anal gland I would get it checked sooner rather than later bc they can rupture and that is naaaaaasty.
I have never dealt with something like this unfortunately. I wonder if melsamoony has a point with it potentially being an anal gland issue. I hope you find a good vet you and the kitties both like!

Could be? Honestly I don't know, we've never had anything like this happen before. She doesn't seem to be in pain from what I can tell (not acting any differently)

I have a cat but never experienced anything like that. I know certain kinds of dogs need their anal glands expressed... no clue if certain cats get that problem too.

So whatever it is fell off....no blood. Cat seems fine. I am so confused! I guess it could possibly be a small piece of poop that got really entangled in hair? DH & I debated that idea but ultimately decided that there was no way it could hang on that long if that was the case.
We have a vet appt tomorrow morning, I don't know if we should still go or cancel and keep an eye on it. The office visit is not going to be cheap so Ill be pissed if we go and there's nothing going on.
