It's Friday for me, yay! Heading in early to get a jump on things. H and I have tickets to see a singer/songwriter we love who is in town tonight. Just need to power through the work day and date night is on the other end.
H got into town last night - so excited for him to see everything. granite is in and guys are here already working on the tile. tomorrow is grout for the kitchen and backsplash, and then backsplash install, grout everything else on Saturday. yay!
Morning! I am wiped. This quarter is jam packed and work is insane lately. I am trying to get a day off next week because I'm scheduled for 40 hours, have finals, and my first 12+ hour clinical day but my sup won't respond to my email though, grrr!

@lauralynne , thinking of your family
Tonight H is meeting up with his regular group of friends for what I like to think of as his monthly "dude date." So I get some much coveted alone time tonight. I'm going to watch trashy reality TV H hates, and it will be fabulous.
@lauralynne that is so sad. A friend of mine from HS has a daughter with that. I think she is 2 years old now. Hugs to you and your family.
fiddles I just bought tickets to see the Cubs when they come to town. It will be junior's first baseball game and H is going to try and sway him he should cheer for the Cubs not the Rockies.

I am so, so sorry @lauralynne. They are brave to move forward with the pregnancy. I'm sending healthy, happy life vibes their way for the baby.
I don't have any big updates today. C seems to be doing much better. She slept through the night in her crib last night, with no coughing. I'm pretty sure I have sinus infection, though :\

Hugs @lauralynne
I'm home today. I gave bkb the option of pedicures or go jumping and she picked jumping so no pedicure for me. Boo. My consolidation prize is a sushi lunch date with her.
Hoping the sun comes out later and we'll go ride bikes.

@lauralynne, how heartbreaking. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.
karebear219, how old is bkb now? I still imagine her as the baby in your avatar.
I'm at work today. I'm starving, but I didn't bring anything and I'm too cold to go out and find something. We have granola bars and stuff in the break room, so I'll grab that, I guess.
This evening, Tman's cub scout pack is doing some work at a local food bank - prepping for tomorrow's distribution, I think. Community involvement is a huge reason I wanted him in cub scouts, so I'm pretty excited about this. I hope he doesn't have a ton of homework to make the evening stressful.
Hugs to everyone today, good or bad I think everyone can use one
Nothing exciting for me today, I managed to remember to clip the dogs nails before vacuuming which is a big deal for me. Usually I remember to do that after I just vacuumed. Besides that I get to call and deal with our insurance. They decided to deny J her med because of her age. Really has me upset now that I am in full mode of wanting to treat this and stay on top of it all. So yeah, that should be a good conversation. I'm feeling and for whoever has to take my call.

*hugs* to everyone that needs them today.
I've got a doozy of a story here. There is a good outcome it was just a weird day.
Yesterday my upstairs neighbors house was broken in and ransacked in broad day light. Scary part is I was home and heard nothing. They got in through a sliding glass door and took everything out that way out the back of the house. I work in the front of my house and heard nothing. She called when she got home and saw it ransacked I went up and called the police and waited with her..and waited. Finally they came took statements and whatnot and called a evidence tech due to the amount of property involved. FIVE hours later the tech arrives. He's diligent and there for just about 2 hours.
Fast forward a an hour or so and she gets a call from an office 4 miles away in another part of town asking if she had "lost" a safe. She mentioned it was stolen and the case #.
The cops in that area received a noise complaint and went to a garage where 5 guys were actively trying to break into her industrial safe with pick axes and crow bars! They had just got it open far enough to get a hand in and the cop saw her passport and car registration on top! They could arrest 4 of them. A detective came out and talked to her and asked her to go to the station to identify everything.
This is the fun part - we spent from 11:00 last night until 5am this morning at the station! The stories kept getting convoluted with the suspects and more info was coming out and search warrants and seizure of cars.
It was like we were in a real life CSI case. And I will say all but one of the officers were amazing. I will forever love the Sergeant that brought us coffee and donuts at 2am after he came back from translating the search of the house. I don't even drink coffee but it was amazing then.
To the asshole that was the ring leader and was out on probation - he clearly didn't learn his lesson because he was booked last night on felony burglary charges.
I wont go into the extent of what this loss would have meant monetarily but if you don't have adequate insurance on jewelry please, please please put it in a safety deposit box.
FrozenSunshine that is crazy! I am so glad they found the guys though and all because they were being stupid. Were they able to track down all of her things that were stolen?

She got REALLY REALLY lucky. The safe had a TON TON TON of stuff in it. She's still out 2 iPads, a laptop and a few thousand in "costume" jewelry. One of the guys had almost $1500 on him so they think that was from selling the electronics, but he also had pot on him. He didn't cooperate well so the cops had a drug dog come in and smell the money and since it was with drugs it smelled like drugs so they confiscated it all
There were so many lies and whatnot the nail that sealed that guys jail time last night was a rare bottle of alcohol he stole and it was found in his car.

Aww Thanks guys. She's 69 and lives alone. She was devastated.
I will say after they inventoried the jewelry last night she was dusting it all off and she let me try every piece on. The officers were teasing me about playing dress up.. I was in a hoodie, jeans, no makeup and trying on rings that cost more than cars. insane.

We have so.many.fleas. We are currently working on getting rid of them. My legs are so covered in flea bites that it looks like I have the chicken pox.
