My surgery has still not been technically scheduled. The way it works is there is a lady in the office (schedule coordinator) who calls the hospital, lets them know the surgery and the day we want, and the hospital gives the time and puts it in the system. Well I was scheduled for this week and then last Friday at my appt my doctor decided to move it so it's earlier in my cycle. We decided on Feb 5. So when I left, the scheduler said she would call the hospital on Tuesday to schedule and then call me to let me know the time. Ok. Meanwhile, my original surgery didn't get canceled so Monday and Tuesday I got calls from the hospital about my upcoming surgery. I explained it was changed.
Tuesday afternoon I hadn't heard anything so I called the scheduler (at her direct line) and no answer so I left a message. Nothing. Yesterday afternoon I did the same thing - still no answer so left a message. I still have not received a call. I am getting really pissed off. I don't have any other direct lines to call and if I call the general number, they will transfer me to scheduler (I know because this is what happened the very first time I called about this). I am now going to try and contact my doctor through the online portal but I don't know if she actually checks it (I haven't used it yet). I don't know if the scheduler is out, isn't doing her job, or got fired, but WTF! If she's not able to schedule surgeries, someone else has to. This is ridiculous.
Sounds so frustrating! And really unprofessional, especially in the medical field.
I'm annoyed because H could have booked a direct flight but instead got one with a layover to save the company money. But I know they wouldn't care, he's just too nice. So now he's stuck in a plane that won't take off for another half hour and might miss his connection.

That sucks HoneySpider. I actually find all my docs (or whoever is really responding) to be very responsive in the patient portal. I always have a response that day or the next if they are closed when I send. Hopefully that's the case with you too!

I hope so too! I thought having the lady's direct number would be good enough but I guess not. Hopefully someone replies to my message.

I'm sorry HoneySpider, I hope it gets all straightened out quickly.
My vent - If you didn't buy it or bring it into work, DON'T eat it. I bought a box of cereal in, had it twice, haven't touched it for a week and I went to eat some and the box was more than 1/2 empty.
HoneySpider That is crazy! I hope they get their stuff together and call you back!
So my boss is a "clock martyr." (My term) I come in early, leave late (just 30 minutes) and only take a lunch really 1-2 times a week. When I go to leave work at night (again, I leave late mind you), she looks up at me with this pitiful look. "I hope to leave sooooon....have a good night." If I have a rare issue (like my car breaking down last week) she acts like it's a big inconvenience. So the last two weeks I've been finishing up a special project. Today at our weekly meeting, she wants to know if I'm feeling overwhelmed because I've been leaving later than usual (6:30/7) . I explain that a lot of it has been this special cross-team project I'm a member of. That seems to satisfy her. But honestly, I don't buy this horse crap she's trying to tell me about being concerned. I'm sorry. I believe in my heart that most bosses secretly want their employees to basically live in their offices. I've only worked for one person who encouraged a work/life balance...and actually really meant it.
@skyesthelimit1212 I write my name all over food I bring to work. I worked with a guy that said, "if it didn't have a name its community food"
My vent- DH has mandatory overtime tomorrow. We can use the extra money for vacation but it's going to snow so I have to worry about him driving to and from work. Plus his job is frustrating him So much lately that he really needs the 2 days away from his coworkers.

((hugs)) HoneySpider! Hope your surgery gets scheduled soon!
@moonbeam- Sorry about your DH's flight Hope he's home soon!
@@@ C has reflux and has been on meds the past couple weeks. Well, last weekend it stopped working and he's been throwing up a lot. Went to his doctor yesterday and we changed meds, are going to start probiotics, and need to do a stool test to see if he's milk soy intolerant. Anyways, he's been throwing up nearly all meals today and then screaming to be fed more. Love him so much but today has sucked big time. On top of that it took 2 hours trying to track down the probiotics...I sent DH to BRU since they were supposed to have them but they didn't. Everywhere I called said they didn't carry them even though they said they did online. So frustrating.
My parents' dog is staying with us through the weekend and my dogs are being loud, obnoxious assholes. So help me God, if they wake this baby then their princess asses are going to be thrown outside.
My insurance company is also an asshole. They ignored a claim for W's bill and the claims department says he doesn't exist on our insurance per our insurance company. Except he was added weeks ago and this was confirmed at the pedi's office prior to his appointment on the 8th. They better get their shit together because I'm not paying this $6K bill.
Also? $600 copay per trip to the hospital. The 3 hours that I was monitored and sent home only to be medically induced less than 24 hours later cost $600. Then the induction admission cost $600. Then the PP pre-e admission cost $600. I'm assuming W will have a $600 copay as well.
Now I'm wondering how all of those frequent-flier women afford to come be monitored in L&D three times a week.

Just got a call from the scheduler....I'm guessing my message set a fire. She apologized for it taking all week but didn't really have a good excuse other than she was just busy. But I got an appt time, I'm the first appt at 7:30. Good because I have to fast, bad because that means I have to be there at 5:30am! But it will be much better to go in, get done, and get home.

I'm annoyed that there is a moving truck in the closest spots in our parking lot. It's partially in a handicap spot too. WTF? Can't you park along the back like everyone else does when they have a trailer or something? It's just the back of the truck, so it's not like they can move it really. Grr!
