Hello All. I hope you all had a successful week organizing your kitchen cabinets and drawers. I am a bit behind this week because of the stomach bug. I am hoping to catch up this next week. Please share any helpful tips you came across during the challenge or any before/photos if you feel comfortable.
This week's challenge is to organize pantry, spices, and other food storage areas so you can easily find what you need, and keep things fresh and safe from pests. Here is the link: www.home-storage-solutions-101.com/organize-pantry.html
when cleaning out my kitchen drawers I decided to set aside anything I don't use regularly in a box and put it away in a closet - if I don't access anything in that box over the next few months I'll donate it all. This has given me lots of room to store what I do use in a better, more accessible way.
I have been reading these posts, so thanks for keeping them coming! I cleaned out our medicine cabinet today and got rid of a ton of expired pills. It is so nice to have it clean and organized! We are still working on our iffice and getting rid of lots of stuff. It feels so good to purge!

We don't have a proper pantry, but I cleaned out the kitchen cabinets that we use to hold food this past week. I'm going to tackle the rest of the cabinets this week.
I really like these challenges. It's nice to take baby steps towards getting things organized. Even DH has been inspired and has been helping me organize the basement, too. As a bonus we've sold a bunch of old toys and made some good $$. It feels good!
While I'm ahead in some areas, like I did the spice organization and food storage last week, I'm still working on the drawers and cabinets. I did install two pan organizers that I got from Lowe's, used one upright for Pyrex pans and the other sideways for shallow Corningware. Target has this exact organizer in chrome for $10, but Lowe's had the white rubberized version at $9. For the $1 difference I supplied my own screws to install them:
I bought this one for $5 to organize our snack shelf:
And I have this one on order from Amazon for $9 that I hope to use on the counter for cutting boards:
