Serious question: for those of you with 100+ items on a registry, what on earth are you registering for? I just can't even see how we would get that high. Are you asking for things you will need 6-12 months from now?
I have a LOT of small items on mine. Pacis, different kinds of bottles, a bunch of books, and yes things I'll need in bigger sizes like sleep sacks and onesies, there are accessories for my pump, different blankets, bath items, first aid/grooming etc. I don't expect I'll receive everything on there, but it's kind of a comprehensive list for me and I can use my completion discount on the things I don't receive as gifts. But with 60+ guests invited to the shower, I need to have a lot of options on there since most will buy from the registries.
1. How many are you having? I'm having 2 little showers in my home state in about 2 weeks - one family, one friends. Then I have a friend who will be throwing me a shower locally here in March. I'm sure work will have a little celebration for me, but will probably mostly just be a eat-yummy-things and celebrate type of thing. My boss has a thing for making those types of celebration parties a surprise, so who knows when that will happen.
2. How many places are you registered, and where? We have a registry on Amazon. Honestly I'm not expecting to get a lot off my registry - I don't expect to get a lot of big things at my out of state showers, but we thought that at least if we did Amazon people could easily choose to ship things to us if they chose something bigger.
3. How many items are on each of your registries? Be honest! 25 items on there right now. We actually haven't done a great job at registering...I'm sure there are a lot of holes. It has been hard to find the time to sit down and do it together (H is in the middle of an internship right now and is gone late every night.) But like I said - I'm not expecting a lot of registry action going on. I'm excited to use the completion coupon code for ourselves though!
4. What 3 things are you most coveting from your registries? Diaper bag, Ergo baby carrier and the cute kitten wubbanub.
5. What do you think the most frivolous thing on your registry is? A pretty Moses basket with a stand. Not something we really need - we have a mini crib - but I just think it's so pretty!

Yep. I basically put everything I could think of, for the completion discount. Other than the big/major stuff, I put books, toys, some clothes, safety stuff for the house, a teething necklace, humidifier, breast pads, lanolin, utensils, etc.
This is #2 so we don't have a registry or a shower. My dad is having a brunch which is very nice. No gifts or anything, just a celebration for baby. Probably 15-20 people.
viviela I just looked for a lot of the ones I had growing up and then started adding as I saw cute ones that I wanted to read to her. christy082 thanks for the link!
centralsquare: a lot of mine are books. Most are on there for me to buy, same with some of the other items I have on there. I did put things she will use later like the sippy cups, storage bowls, etc. I know we will either need them or I want them for her and I can buy them when I get the registry completion discount. The registry is more of a working list for me to remember what to buy than it ever was for anyone else. It also helped with price watching so I could snag items as I saw prices drop to where I thought it was better to buy now than wait for the discount at the end.

To answer the 80+ question, I don't know, I really don't think my registry seems all that ridiculous. I would be happy to share and would honestly be curious if anything seemed ridiculous, I would rather you be honest than have friends/family side eye me. The one thing I think takes up a lot of items is I plan to cloth diaper. So there are several diapers on there, several inserts, liners, a pail, 2 liners, 3 wet bags, diaper ointments, a sprayer, a spray pal. So far people have bought none of that, so I guess I will use the registry discount. Also I feel like there's lots of breast feeding stuff. I still did bottles/nipples, plus cream, nipple pads, a gel insert, milk bags.
I can't think of anything of the top of my head that is only for when they are older.
I have obviously not registered yet but I will likely have 2-3 showers. My mom will probably throw one as will my MIL. I would love it if they would combine but they didn't for my bridal shower so I suspect it will be seperate. I will also likely have a small work one.
I think we will register at Buy Buy Baby and a smaller local specialty store called Magic Beans. I am not 100% though and will have to see.
I would like the UppaBaby Vista and their carseat the Mesa. My mom will probably buy that though so I likely won't even put it on the registry. I would also like a mamaRoo and a Halo bassinet. I am getting a lot of gear from my sisters so we can splurge on other items:)
