I don't know guys....I just saw an updated forecast and they are talking about freezing rain and strong wind gusts. This makes me concerned about downed power lines. Be careful peeps. Maybe go go the stores tonight instead if you can.
Are the power lines even above ground in queens? Of course I default to asking you.
National Weather Service (weather.gov) currently has the northeast getting the big snow starting Monday night and all of Tuesday. Wind gusts possible on Monday up to 49 mph, and then high winds Tuesday night in the 34-37 mph range.

They are above ground. Fh and that part of queens loses power in tornadoes but not in big snow storms.
Before major snow storms, we always make sure we have lots of bottled water, snacks and food that don't need to be refrigerated, batteries (for flashlights) and candles. I always assume the power will go out so I'm prepared for the worst.
lolaburns, I hope everything goes smoothly for your husband tomorrow and they can get to the bottom of this for you guys. I'll be thinking of you!

We are in the 18-24+ range. We lose power over the littlest things so I worry about that. My H is working a 24 so that stresses me out. He's going to have to give me a refresher on the generator tomorrow. I'm hoping for a delay on Wednesday so that he can snowblow when he gets home in the morning so I can get out.
I think I'll make brownies tomorrow so I can gorge on them all day Tuesday.

We're in 24"+ range now. I was the nutty wife who sent her husband to the grocery store after, (for super important stuff like coffee, lol), checked the flashlights, etc. I hate snow.
As long as it holds off until 4 pm, when I am safe at home with my kid,I will deal.

I'm sending h out tomorrow to get food too! I bet it'll be crazier tomorrow.

We are supposed to get 1 to 3 feet now. I went shopping tonight instead so I could go alone and get it done quicker. I'm glad I did. There was already barely any bread or milk left.
