We have a Graco Nautilus DS moved to it when he was about 4.5 or just about 5. He was in the 5 point until he started first grade and turned 6, he never complained about it and he's a big kid always in the high 90th % for both weight and height.
I moved it to the seat belt and he still uses it with the high back, no complaints what so ever. It does convert to a backless version.

Target has the Britax Pioneers for $172 (I think) this week. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Frontier and doesn't convert to a backless, but I much prefer our Frontier to our Nautilus for DD1.
We have the Evenflo Maestro. It's fine. Sits lower than DS's combo seat, which was a problem initially but now he's grown enough to see out the window again. DS is small, so I feel like it will take him a long time to hit 50 lb or outgrow the height on the harness.
Omg I am so dumb. I think I just forgot. I've been looking at convertibles for DS lately (got the Graco Milestone!) so I think my brain was just confused.... Thanks!
Target has Gracos on sale right now. Plus you can get an extra 10% off with mobile baby coupons. Plus there is a $5 off $50 coupon right now. And ebates.
I used all this to order a graco milestone yesterday and picked it up in store last night!

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Nautilus. I got it expecting it to be the last seat I'd buy. But as a booster, it's ridiculously heavy and hard for my kids to buckle. We have turbo boosters for their regular seats, and I've relegated the Nautilus to DH's car that we don't use much. In hindsight, I'd get a convertible that will last through both kids, and just get your older child a booster when they're ready. Then you can use the convertible for your younger child. Oh, and part of why I hate that it's heavy is that it's a PITA to move if my kids need to ride with someone else, which with school aged kids, does seem to happen more and more often.

We have a Britax Pinnacle with the click tight technology and the Recaro Proride.
The Britax is no joke. DD1 seems to prefer it too. The Recaro has a fabric that doesn't get hot in the summer, but the "cup holder" is hardly that. Both are solid, but the side impact on the Pinnacle is very impressive.
