Sorry I'm a day late - yesterday just ran away with me.
How is everyone doing?
I haven't really lost any weight, which is frustrating but I did know it was going to be a slow moving process and I'm working out a lot harder than I have in the past so not shocked I might be holding onto some water weight.
Lifting is going well - I've gotten my squat up to 47.5 kg again (had to take a breather after getting ill) and my deadlift up to 52.5kg. I want to squat my weight by this summer, which I think is doable.
Next week I'm going skiing in France, and might not have internet...does anyone want to volunteer to post next week?
While I was laid up with back problems and eating cookies nonstop, I gained back the 3 pounds I had lost. BUT I'm back on track (I hope), doing more yoga to strengthen up those horrible back muscles.

mrsukyankee I can do the post next week if you want I lost 1.8 lbs last week so I was happy with that. I have been working on C25k on my non-gym days. I actually ran for 3 minutes straight on Sunday. This is a big accomplishment for me so I was pretty proud of myself.

I've been tracking my food on MFP all week and hitting at least 10,000 steps. I've also been forcing myself to get in bed at a decent hour. These are baby steps but I'm ok with that.
I don't weigh in until 30 days in (I'm on Day 23 now), but my jeans seem to be fitting just the tiniest bit looser so we'll see what happens. I also have to measure that day, which is far more important than the number on the scale.
So far, since January 5th (my jumpstart date), I've worked out 21 of 22 days and have consistently tracked every little morsel of food that crosses my lips. Most days, I've come under my calorie goal but on those days, I don't? I don't sweat it. I think it's good to keep your body guessing.
Congrats to all on their accomplishments this week!
Its going alright. I'm down 3lbs since the beginning of January- 8 to go! I need to spend more time on my abs though, so that will be a goal for the next few weeks.
No weight loss this week but I'm down 9 from Jan 1. Clean eating is going well and my runs are feeling really good. I'm debating between registering for a 10km or a half in March.
Holding steady weight wise but my pants feel a bit loser, I think. This cough is still kicking my ass a month later so anything more than light exercise for about 20 minutes sends me into a coughing fit. Blargh! Stupid virus.
But, I apparently did the equivalent of what feels like a million squats on Sunday based on how sore my thighs are. I was taking photos using my lightbox which is on an end table so needed to squat down to look through the lens. Did that about 100 times over the course of the day I think. Sore is good, right?
As of Friday, I had lost 7 lbs since the first of the year (I'm sure that first weigh in was artificially high due to holidays though).
Then I weighed myself yesterday and had regained 2 pounds despite no changes in diet. So that's frustrating.
I am doing great with running, which is exciting for me-- I think in the next week or 2 I'll be up to running 3 miles.
I am snowbound with the kids today, which usually means I bake. But that's how I gained all my weight last winter, so I'm trying to resist the baking urge...

I am still doing pretty well, slowly creeping down, I hit my 4% loss I needed for the diet bet last week, but then we went out to dinner Sunday and I ate alllllll the food, I have zero regrets since I have been doing great so far and it was so good, but I was back up yesterday. I still should be ok for Friday weigh in, I am confident I will hit my goal. Tracking everything in MFP still and making it to a lot of classes and actually enjoying them. I am going to spring for a HRM to get a more accurate account of how much I am actually burning in class, I am curious to see. As of this morning I am down just under 7# since 1/5
I had to end my Whole30 a week early due to DH being OOT unexpectedly and just not really having the time for the necessary food prep, but I'm still eating 90% compliant, 5% paleo and 5% chocolate, cheese and wine. I did weigh myself at the end, I'm down 5-6 lbs from when I started it
I ordered the PiYo DVD's, so I'm looking forward to starting those later this week.
Down another 1.4 pounds as of Friday. I'm not holding out too much hope for this week's weigh in though since I was way off my diet this weekend because of my birthday. But it's a new day! And every loss counts.
I'll be happy when this DietBet is over on Friday. 4% in 4 weeks is quite tough for me at this stage. However, I am down almost 18 lb since mid November, so there's that. I'm almost back into the 150s, which I haven't seen since 2007. 155 is my goal weight, but I feel like the last 5 pounds will be the toughest.
I still can't do much in terms of working out since my ute is borderline prolapsing. I want to be walking more than I am, but it's too damn cold so I've been wimping out.
I also haven't lost weight and I am frustrated. In fact on certain days I am up a lb. I am doing P90X 6 days a week and getting in on average 11K steps a day. My eating although not perfect is greatly improved. Yet here I sit without seeing results. I know I know it is a marathon not a 100 yard dash.

Thanks - that would be helpful. I might or might not get on. And good job on the C25K!
I had lost 4 pounds. I am sick right now though, and haven't been eating much of anything, or doing anything but sleep. When I do eat, it's ice cream because my throat is so sore.
We will see what next week brings.
Liking the 4 lb loss but not the illness. Hope you recover quickly!

If you've upped your exercise recently, it's most likely water weight gain. It will go away in a few weeks. I'm suffering from this as well.

Well done on your loss so far. The last bits are the toughest because realistically, you should be setting up for a 1/2 lb loss per week max (so it takes a lot of time) AND because the deficit is so small, little things can get in the way. I'm doing the same right now and trying for those last 5-10 lbs and I know it might take me a half year to year to get it off and keep it off.
-1 this week. Things are going good! I up to 4.08 miles for my one long run of the week (Thursdays). I can always make better food choices, but I didn't fall off the wagon completely.

Make sure you take some rest days as your body needs them to heal - and so your workouts can be as good as you can make them. Good focus!
I'm a hot mess. I got lazy about tracking but have still been eating fairly well and I've gained weight. I have never been this high a weight consistently except for pregnancy and post baby and I'm pissed. I'm also feeling discouraged, and wondering if this is just that "getting older" metabolic shift that I was hoping to avoid with weight training, etc.
I don't WANT to have to live on under 1500 calories a day to maintain my weight forever, I don't! But I swear, as soon as I creep over 1500, regardless of exercise, it all just gloms on. Ugh. So frustrating.
I'm wondering if you are eating more than you think. Are you weighing every single solid with a scale? Before I did that I was definitely eating more than I thought.
Weight training, particularly if you are using heavy weights and a progressive full body program, will help in the long run as you are keeping more of your muscle which will burn more calories.
I haven't posted in these threads yet, since I'm not cleared to exercise yet. However, I did start eating healthier in the meantime, and so far in two weeks I've lost two pounds. Good start

I feel ya. Sometimes I feel like I'm moving at a snail's pace...it has taken me 6 months to lose 19 pounds. but I just keep telling myself that the longer it takes, the more I am making a longer term change in my habits and that is a good thing. Hopefully I will keep it off and won't yo yo. You know what I mean? If it took 2 months and then I was done, I'd just be like "Sweet! I can eat donuts again!" But if it takes a year, by the time a year is up I will (hopefully) be like "Eh, I feel great, I don't need donuts!"
Anyway, hang in there. Regardless of what your scale says yYou are a rock star with your P90X 6x a week and 11K steps a day!
I rejoined weight watchers yesterday, so can I hop in?
As of today I'm 20lbs below where I was before giving birth, which is definitely awesome motivation. I still need to lose 20 lbs to get to pp weight, plus I'd like to lose 10-15 more.
I wish I could breastfeed forever because it gives me a bajillion extra points.
I already posted an AW but I'm down 17 pounds since January 8th. I'm not doing Whole 30 or following any sort of clean eating, but I cut out crap, weigh my food on a scale so I'm getting proper portion sizes, and I've been exercising minimum 5 of 7 days per week. I picked up Couch to 5K again as well. I do yoga a few days a week, usually on my days off working out. I was sick last weekend though, so I lost a few extra pounds only eating Saltines for more than 24 hours. Guessing I'll plateau pretty soon, but for now, I'll take the consistent loss! 63 pounds to go.

I would bet you're putting on muscle. I've mostly been doing all cardio, so I'm losing on the scale, but I'm not seeing any muscle gain. I know if I start doing strength training (and P90X is a ton of strength combined with cardio, right?) I'll start plateauing on the scale or go up a few pounds, but I know it'll be because I'm building up muscle mass. Are you doing measurements? I wonder if you'd see that you're losing inches instead of pounds.

I'm down about 7 lbs since 1/1, but where I can REALLY tell is in my clothes. They are all much looser and I can't even wear the 12s anymore without them getting too looseygoosey by the end of the day.
I'm mostly enjoying the lack of dairy and sugar in my life. I realize now that those things were really inflaming my system and I feel much better without them. I also notice when I DO have those things on no-strings-attached days that I kind of feel like shit for a day after them. So I think I will try to cut them out completely, even on NSA days.
I'm doing great with my yoga practice (6 days per week now!) but I am not doing so great with the other exercises. I need to pick them up again. I think I tried to do too many things at once and sort of overwhelmed myself.
No smoking since 1/1. BEST. I love it and I really don't want to ever, ever go back. Now when I am anywhere near a smoker at work I can smell them SO much and I feel badly for all the people I bombed with my lovely smoke perfume all these years. GROSS. I've had booze twice since 1/1 and I don't really miss that at all, surprisingly.
