Apparently we have the option to change our cubes to accommodate a standing desk. You do get a bar stool to perch on if you get tired, but it's not super comfortable.
There are also a number of yoga balls floating around in some of the cubes - though I haven't seen anyone use them all day.
If you had these options would you do it? I kind of want to do the standing desk, but feel like I would need more supportive shoes or something.
We have standing desks for our computers in our home office (my H often works from home) and we love them. As pp said, get a fatigue mat. It'll probably take a week or so to get used to it, but once you do, it's awesome.

i did a standing desk for awhile and it was awesome. then i got lazy.
if i had a bar stool to sit on every once in awhile i probably would have stuck with it, even if the stool was uncomfortable, because you probably won't sit on it very long.
I want to add - I tried to switch to a yoga ball in my home office, but the work I do involves quickly focusing on small details and scrolling as quickly as possible, so trying to balance on the ball made me motion sick.
I daydream about setting my screens up around a treadmill so I can just walk all day.
I sit on a yoga ball. It's been about two years since I started and I love it. I wouldn't be able to do a standing desk for a full day, but I'd totally go for one that is adjustable.
I worked at a standing desk for years. You get used to it. I liked to have a box that I could put one foot on while standing- I'd switch back and forth. A fatique mat was useful on concrete, not so necessary on a wood floor.
There is no way I'd want a standing desk for 100% of the time. I know not exactly the same, but I hate standing in the OR in the same spot for hours on end.
When I did have a desk job I'd use a yoga ball to mix things up throughout the week. But I wouldn't want it 100% of the time either.
I think I read somewhere that standing desks were the best option, and that the yoga ball chairs don't actually do anything for you. No increased core strength, no extra calories burned, etc.
