Getting ready for the new office job? When do you start?
I have a coffee mug and a big water jug that I drink out of all day. I don't bother with makeup unless there's something big going on. I have a sweater in my drawer - offices are always cold. Healthy(ish) snacks for when I am starving and can't go out/won't go out to get something. Hand sanitizer on my desk. Hand cream.
When I worked in the office, here's what I kept there:
- A shawl that could be used as a blanket for my legs if needed, otherwise it was folded over the back of my chair. - Chap stick, lotion, nail clippers and nail file, super glue and face powder - My coffee mug with a few varieties of tea - Granola bars and crackers - Extra change and cash for vending machines - Small hair brush, rubber bands and bobby pins - Phone charger
ETA: And some safety pins for any wardrobe malfunctions.
I have a little box in my desk with personal stuff in it. I think it has hand cream, contact lens solution, an extra contact case, floss, nail cuttter/nail file, ibuprofen, cough drops, pads/tampons, Claritin and chapstick. I also have a fleece I keep on the back of my chair because it can be freezing in here. I have granola bars and a few other long lasting snacks for emergency food.
I think that's it. I bring my lunch most days and I have a laptop bag, although I rarely take my laptop home. My H thinks it is funny that I basically bring an empty bag to and from work every day.
Lint roller, Tide To Go pen, Static Guard spray, mini sewing kit, hand lotion, lip balm, glass nail file. All self-explanatory, I think. Random: instant miso soup, Kind bars, Yummy Earth organic lollipops for food emergencies. Our office kitchens are stocked with snacks, but a lot of it is stuff I don't eat, so this stash saves me. I've never been one to keep a makeup bag with me or in my desk drawer. I did for a while because I thought it's what I "should" do, but I took it home because I never used it. I don't do makeup touch-ups... maybe I should, but it never occurs to me.
ETA: I should add that I don't keep a mug or glass/bottle because the kitchens here have those. Tea, coffee, soda, sparkling water, and vitamin water are also stocked for employees. Basic medications (Tylenol, Advil, Excedrin, aspirin, Pepto-Bismol, Gas-X, Tums, etc.) are also stocked for our use. If they weren't, I'd want some of those on hand. I do keep a stash of quarters for the vending machines.

I have an LL Bean lunch box that I bring to and from work each day. I don't usually drink coffee at work, but if I do I am anti-MM and I get Starbucks (we have one on campus). I keep a camelbak water bottle on my desk. Hand sanitizer, kleenex, nail file, tweezers, band aids, tooth brush, tooth paste, floss, etc are in my desk. I only bring make up if I'm working out at lunch, and then I just bring my whole bag. I throw everything I need for the day (workout clothes, lunch box, purse, kindle, ERIN CONDREN PLANNER, etc) into one of my envirosax. I'm on the hunt for a better tote because I realize this makes me look like a bag lady, but I don't have a better one right now.
I'm thinking makeup bag because there's a good chance I'll commute by bike at least sometimes, or work out there early (they have a full staffed gym), and I don't want to have to drag that stuff back and forth.
I have a Starbucks frap tumbler I use for water. Open top containers and spreadsheets do not mix. Plate & untensils snacks tissues tampons hairbrush & hair ties pain meds, allergy meds, dayquil tablets phone charger
I have a food drawer that contains popcorn, granola bars, peanut butter, a few cans of soup, trail mix, oatmeal, plastic utensils, and a microwave-safe bowl. Nothing too tempting that I want to eat it all day, but enough that I could throw together a decent lunch if I forget mine.
I also have a mini Keurig because our office coffee sucks, plus K-cups, a mug, a water pitcher, and sweetener. Plus tea bags because I like drinking tea in the winter, and a large Camelbak water bottle I drink out of all day. I keep a candy dish on my desk because it's what most people do here, but I stock it with candy I don't like so I don't eat it all day. It currently has LifeSavers, peppermints, and lemon drops in it.
I keep some personal hygiene stuff around too--lotion, lip gloss, gum, a travel-size deodorant and Static Guard spray, a Tide Pen, extra tampons and pantiliners, and mouthwash. I have a few family pictures around, too.
Currently I can't live without the pillow I brought for lumbar support, but I don't usually need that.
At work I keep: mini deodrant, mini toothpaste, mini toothbrush, tampons, a few small bandaids, lotion, cold drink cup (the double walled ones with a straw), individually packaged protein bars, insulated mug for hot beverages.
On a daily basis I bring a bento type lunch. I keep a tiny bag of make-up essentials in my purse. I also have a pair of Dr. Scholl's fast flats that go between my purse and my desk.
I bring my lunch bag, pump bag, and purse each day.
At work I make sure I have breakfast foods, snacks, water bottle, jacket/sweater, hand lotion, chap stick, mirror, headphones and then of course office supplies.
I keep nuts & dried fruit or Larabars at my desk. I have an insulated cup with a lid that has gel in between the layers, which I keep in the freezer. I fill it up multiple times per day. I have an insulated lunch tote that I put my lunch & snacks in. I keep some spare makeup in my purse in its own little bag but I could just as easily leave it at work.
I have a picture of my dog in a frame on my desk, but none of DH, lol.
We have a kitchenette with cabinets where we have Advil & other OTC meds, along with first aid kit so I haven't worried about providing my own. YMMV.
I'm thinking makeup bag because there's a good chance I'll commute by bike at least sometimes, or work out there early (they have a full staffed gym), and I don't want to have to drag that stuff back and forth.
Good point. My new job has a gym with on-site classes so I'll be working out during the day too!
So much of what I have is office dependent. Where I am now we don't have cups/mugs provided, or coffee or anything like that. So I have coffee in the freezer, coffee filters, etc. I won't need those at my next job.
At my office, I have my water bottle, laptop bag, a couple sweaters/jackets, a fan (I need the noise and air movement), radio, personal pictures, phone charger, and a few light snacks that I keep loaded so I don't snack on candy

At my currentl location I can only have what fits in my "box". Its stocked with -tea -starbucks via -alka seltzer -bandaids -post it notes -cough drops
I bring a small bag with my Zune HD, lotion, chapstick, some $$, and my pashimina.
I have to keep my purse and cell phone locked up outside the lab.
At my regular office I have everything you can imagine at my desk. Photos, food, small toys, etc
* a coffee mug * a tumbler for cold drinks * plastic plate and a cloth napkin, and a cheap metal knife, fork, and spoon (we don't have many disposables available at work, plus I like to be eco-friendly) * small compact mirror * package of wet wipes * Kleenex * loose change * a bag of Dove chocolates * fleece jacket (company freebie) * a box of teabags * photo of me and MH * just got a new travel mug so I will start bringing that tomorrow
In the communal fridge, I keep a jug of iced tea and a small container of half-and-half, and sometimes a bag of Thomas bagels for breakfast (all labeled - nobody takes it). I keep a hairbrush, Tide Pen, chapstick, aspirin, pads, and my phone charger in my purse at all times. I usually bring my lunch, and when I do I use a ChicoBag shopping bag that folds up when it's empty: www.chicobag.com/category/original
I had a small Vornado fan on my desk at an old job because the AC never worked. $40 on Woot.com and it was awesome.

I travel light I bring my purse into the building, but lock it in the closet all day and never think about it until it's time to go home. I don't have any personal care products, snacks, water bottles, clothing, shoes...
Well, I work mostly out of my home office and my truck. In my truck, I keep a small Rubbermaid box with hair ties, lotion, deodorant, gum, floss, a few small tools, a brush, some Cliff bars, tape, pen, paper, and some other random stuff. I also always have For Rent signs, a tape gun, and a tape measure in my truck. Daily, I carry a portfolio with multiple files that holds my planner, client files and checks, receipts, etc., a water bottle and a very small purse.
When I used to work in an office, I always kept an extra set of work out clothes, silverware and dishes, Aleve, green tea, and assorted non-perishable food items in my drawer.
ETA: I used to ride my bike to the office daily or workout on lunch. When I biked in, I would apply my makeup and fix my hair when I got there (I'm low-maintenance. We're talking a 5-7 minute project). I would bring extra pants so I wouldn't have sweaty-ass, and a change of shoes if necessary.

I have my own cup for water and a coffee mug; a snack drawer with almonds, pretzels, gum, etc; and a necessities bag for tampons, deodorant, hair ties.
I also have a speaker/charging dock for my iPhone. Priceless.
I bring my coffee with me in a Starbucks tumbler (don't like the office coffee) and if I bring my lunch I use a built brand neoprene type tote.
For personal care items I have: cuticle cream, nail clippers (for hang nails or broken nails), hand lotion, lip balm, a hair brush, extra hair ties, an assortment of allergy Rx meds in case I forget in the morning to take them (nasal spray and eye drops), and a teeny tiny mirror.
My snacks include gum, mints (sometimes), dried fruit, instant oatmeal + protein powder, kashi cereal, and one small canister each of Trader Joe's powdered chai tea mix and hot cocoa. My work provides milk, juice, soda, water, coffee, and tea, but I prefer my mixes.
I also have a zipper hoodie, some lysol wipes, and several miscelleneous personal things like photos, a couple of calendars (wall, and page-a-day), a collection of small plastic dinosours and insects, and stuffed ladybug.
