I'm weirdly obsessed with a skein of Lion Brand Heartland I saw at JoAnn's. It's just acrylic, but the color is so pretty (blue with hints of green). I might have to go back for it and make myself a hat.
RockNVoll Can you link the pattern? That looks really pretty.
I just finished up a small crewel embroidery project that's been half-finished for an embarrassingly long time. Now to finish the other half-completed cross-stitch project I have...
I've just finished sewing 50 tails and about 50 ears of ODS school musical.... Although he is too young to be in it this year, but will be next year... Someone found out that I could sew.... And somehow I volunteered... I have 10 dog tails to sew next week... One day I will get to craft for myself...or at least my family!
Someone also asked them if I could crochet them a hat they liked the ones I made the kids

I felt so needy asking a billion questions about the sock(s) I'm working on, but now I'm past the gusset and just getting the length and it's flying! I'm so pleased with how it's going to (hopefully) turn out.
Also, I'm obsessively googling for relatively inexpensive wool-blend yarn to complete a blanket with. I've got a couple patterns pending and a lot of them recommend bernat blanket, which is a chenille and just ... no. I can't touch chenille for the hours it's going to take to finish a dang blanket. Anybody have any recommendations?

I got an email from Knitty's tech editor today - it still doesn't feel quite real yet. I haven't opened her edits because I'm a little nervous about what I'll find, having never written this kind of pattern before, but I suppose I'll have to do it sooner rather than later!
Also, I started work on my next pattern (a cowl) at lunch today! I'm definitely still in the planning/beginning phase, but I think this one's going to be a good one

I'm addicted to cowls right now. I can't wait to see it
Cicero, I LOVE it! Link to the pattern? And of course you should XP this kind of thing, duh. You've been around long enough to know that this board is all about AWing projects. I actually get a little annoyed when finished projects aren't posted here and I see them on other boards instead, LOL.

I'm making a baby blanket for a friend, and have everything done except sewing on the flower decorations. It's been sitting on my kitchen table waiting for me to sew them on for at least a month.

Also, I'm stupidly excited about my new `big sibling` (or baby) project idea-buy a children's book, and knit the main characters/items to make the book come to life.
I'm still here (and there- I have enough love to go around)! I stay busy all morning crafting and then get the kids and then help with homework and then make dinner and then maybe get to sit down for a bit before the kids go to bed, so I AM crafting, but, I'm also very busy. I promise I always make a little time to read while I'm doing those other things and I will try to always AW twice if I ever get around to it!

Leila's preschool teacher was happy to show me her awesome 3 yard table cloth when I opened my mouth that we should really finish the cut ends and yes, I'd love to help. I somehow also bought 2 more 3 yard cuts of fabric for the other two holiday meals they host. I have plenty of sewing to do, but I love her teacher and I love that it's a move away from a disposable tablecloth.
I want to make the kids doll slings, but I couldn't concentrate last night to figure it out. I have a love hate relationship with tutorials sometimes. It doesn't help that I generally start these projects late at night and really could use the kids awake to complete things for them.
I just finished a few things (I'll do a separate PIP later when I get pictures done). So yay for that! For now, I'm focused on finishing a sweater I started knitting in the fall. This is my first one so I'm trying it to see how it comes out. I have nicer yarn ready to go once I know how to do it right.
Although I'm really in the mood to stash bust and do some striped or granny-square style blankets.
I... omigosh... I blogged. I almost forgot how! Just so you know, RockNVoll , I shared here first. www.iloverainbo.ws
Holy hell, you and your craftiness never cease to amaze. Can you blame me for wanting you to post more here again? Beautiful projects, as usual. Is there a craft you can't do (yet)?!
LOL- I MADE AN ASHTRAY! Shush.
I could never knit that lovely sweater, because I may have a very varied craft interest- but, I have not been blessed with the patience to do projects that require that kind of stay-with-it-ness.
It's probably the most advanced thing I have ever attempted. But, I have 3,300 yds of yarn and want to do something a little bigger for a lap blanket instead of a baby blanket. An tried and true oatterns that are clear to follow?
I really need to get back over to this board more often. I have a 7 week old though...so that's my excuse for now lol. I did manage to make some crochet props for her newborn pics. I did a turtle shell and hat and then a snowman sack with hat. Both were out of my lap blanket comfort zone so I was very pleased with the result. I'm working on a granny square lovey with a bunny attached to it now.
rachelgreen, I want to see the turtle shell and snowman! I don't care if you have a 7 week old!
Ditto
lol. I knew I would have to share. I'm at her doctor now and then mommy club here at the hospital but as soon as I get home to my computer I will post them in a new thread for you guys, promise

You people are terrible for my crafting habit. I'm still slaving away at those damn socks and my ravelry queue is now like 45 projects long. OMG. It'll be next Christmas before I roll through all of those.

Oh man, welcome to the club.

Well, R has made me pinky swear that I won't just randomly hoard yarn. So I'm hoarding patterns instead. They take up less space.

That's how it starts! I almost never buy yarn without a pattern in mind...but then something else comes up or you have leftovers or you decide you don't like the original pattern anymore, or someone hears that you took up knitting and gives you yarn for your birthday...and that's how you build a stash.
