at $350 an hr the only person who will benefit from repeated 'hand holding' calls is your attorney. it won't do a dang thing to make you more at ease. i say this from the standpoint of a single parent who has to watch every.single.penny. daily calls to see if something has been done (ie service) will only cause more stress, call every few days or once a week. trust me, they WILL get in touch w/ you once he's been served.
Wth? Do I not know some backstory? She's not done this before. I didn't know wtf I was doing and inquired a lot whether or not he had been served. And I was counting every single penny
Okay, people are getting all butt hurt in this thread for really stupid reasons. Does everyone have a perma wedgie?
She was trying to be helpful- you don't need to call daily if you are counting pennies. Pink is simply suggesting OP CHILL and call less frequently so as to not stress about this and save money. If you set a designated day and time to call, and put it iut of your mind until then, you save money and a headache.
We are not being mean here. Or call your attorney daily. I don't care! It's a suggestion!
Now everyone take two shots of tequila and don't call me in the morning.

Whoa.
cookiemdough, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time,
Jojo I love you and usually appreciate your bluntness. I feel like you were a bit salty here. Hell I was married to a lawyer and didn't know terminology or timeframes or any of that when I filed. It was a totally different language and world. I understand the frustration on your end as an attorney but I understand cookies confusion too.
This thread sucks.
Everyone go over to CEP and take a look at what an asshole bluebayou is.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

were you calling a process server who doesn't charge in .1s or an attorney who does ? i'd call a process server daily if i had questions about status since they do not charge every time i call. would i do the same to an atty who charges in .1s ($35/phone call minimum) daily re service - no !
i can certainly understand someone who is not familiar w/ the legal process to have alot of questions and it falls on attorneys and their support staff that the client speaks to, to convey to them that service is far from an instantaneous process and can take awhile and suggest that the client call back in a few days OR if you've got a super proactive staff to call the client to advise them what the progress is but still it costs money .... i'm watching out for OP's wallet here. all of those calls to an atty add up and fast and in all honesty don't accomplish much.

Sorry, Lys! I didn't mean to come off salty. My pint was to not stress about this. Divorce is stressful enough without looking for things to stress about. I am sorry if I hurt feelings. I rarely intend to hurt feelings (see FFC thread re: homophobes-then I intend to hurt feelings).
Now, tell me what thread to go to where my bitchiness will be appreciated re: bluebayou.

You know I love you girl.
It's the Ben and Jerry's thread. Can't miss it, it's probably the second longest there, after the makeup thread.

Oh, I found it. Yikes. I have found anyone who is all "I don't see race" (aka- I am all races) tends to be ignorantly racist. Anyone who thinks racism is not a problem and racists are a minority is dumb. Look at open carry states (like mine, ugh). White rednecks walk around with guns- it's FREEDOM! Black men walk around with guns and it's DANGER!
