DS#2 went from "You broke my heart, all my love for you has gone away" to "I lub you *gives me a kiss*" in the span of two minutes last night. He slept in his own bed for part of the night (which is a big step for him, he's been really clingy at night lately) and this morning was all sorts of snuggly. AND I think I figured out some ways to redirect DS#1 so he's not throw things angry when he doesn't get his way.
Now I just need to get them to actually stay in bed and go to sleep on time.

I don't know how people sleep at work. Or stay sleeping when a phone is ringing pinkplasticdoll.
Our interns are only with us a short amount of time. They get the boring work we don't want to do. It's very understandable when they fall asleep. It still amuses me.
I'm giggling at the image of an intern startling awake and nearly falling out of his chair.
Date invites started coming in yesterday afternoon/evening, after the Canadian and I discussed ending things for now. None are from anyone I want to be serious with, but I'm not sure I'm going to go on any yet because I'm sad about the Canadian and truthfully not that intetested in getting to know anyone else. I guess my real random is that I started to develop strong feelings for him so quickly (and according to his texts, it seems he's felt the same way).

I was at a meeting until 10 last night, and I woke up this morning at 5 to go to the gym. I am sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy. I wish I could fall asleep at my desk.
That actually works for both problems. Duct tape the kids into bed and if the older one throws toys, pick up the toy, put it back in his hand and duct tape it to his hand. LOL
For staying in bed though, would some sort of bribery/reward be any help? Like pick up a shit-ton of fun size candy, fruit snacks, or something (those little dollar store nail polish bottles and flavored chapstick for your DD if she's still bed-hopping too). If they sleep in their own bed all night until it's time to wake up in the morning, they get to pick a treat. Roll with that for a bit and slowly just stop mentioning the treats when they get up.
I did that with DS. He always wakes up around 2 am, but instead of going back to sleep, he'd come up to our room to tell me he was awake. So I'd have to walk him back down to his bed, re-tuck him in and he'd fall back asleep. I picked up some packs of M&M's (his favorite candy) and told him if he sleeps in his bed all night, he'd get some candy the next day. I only gave him 3 M&Ms at a time but it worked like a charm. He's been staying in his own bed for about 6 months solid now. He still wakes up once in the middle of the night (he always did, so I think that's a permanent thing) but now he just looks around, rolls over and goes back to sleep.

The problem with DS#2 invading my bed is that he usually doesn't wake me up when he climbs in. I'll wake up to go pee and there he is, so I don't get the chance to walk him back to bed. I think he does it in his sleep
I'm working on a "good noodle board", but I need to order a giant box of shit from oriental trading before I can really put it in place. We're also working on our "church manners".

Ah... he has ninja powers. DS did that one time a couple months ago. I woke up and he was laying beside me, using my slipper for a pillow. That was the first time he ever got in bed with me. He ended up coming down with a cold later that day, so I chalked that one up to he was feeling crummy so I didn't say anything about him leaving his own bed.
Usually he just did the creepy stand there and stare until I wake up thing. If I was taking too long to notice him, he'd bend down and knock on the floor to wake me up. He's weird.
We do have 2 sleep walkers. Bear's boys both sleepwalk occasionally. They're hilarious when they do it. So far, I've woken up to cookies on the counter (they get them out but don't eat them for some reason), they turn on the tv but not the cable box and just sit in front of the blank tv, they've woken up fully dressed in school clothes even though they went to bed in just sweatpants, the younger one has stripped his bed, brought everything upstairs and slept on the couch covered in sheets and his comforter... it's all harmless, funny stuff.
In depressing news, today is the anniversary of my first date with J and I'm a weepy mess at my desk. Ugh. I'm thinking of leaving early because I don't want to spend the day crying at work.

The only time Kid crawls into bed with us in the middle of the night is when he's sick. I can pretty much guarantee he's going to puke or spike a fever sometime in the night.
It's my last full day in vegas. We've got twi installations happening today in two different places. Hopefully by the end of the day it will all be finished and I can go enjoy Mexican food at Javier's at Aria. Yum.
I'm really tired though. I've been working long days and averaging 10 miles per day on foot. I'm ready to go home tomorrow.
We do our annual conference at the Aria every year. Javier's is one of my faves. I may or may not have taking the drinking a little too far there one night.

Hugs doglove. My dating anniversary with xh was a couple of days before Christmas. It was a strange feeling, although not as bad as last year.
I've been texting with the radiologist I went out on a hh date with last week. I think a large part of the reason it was such a meh date was my doing. The more we talk the more I think I could like him. Unfortunately he found out that he is being transferred to Seattle for work. So that's most likely not going anywhere. But I'm not really sure if there's much of a romantic interest. Yesterday was the first full day I didn't hear from him since we stayed talking 3 weeks ago.
I'm crossing my fingers so hard right now that I get good news regarding a new job. An attorney I used to work with contacted me earlier this week about coming to work for him, and I'm waiting to hear back if they'll pay me what I want. I need a change of scenery in the job department sooooo badly!!!!
I don't know why the fuck DD's dad thinks I give two shits about him and his life. I don't need any explanations about what you have going on Sunday, just give me a time that you're going to drop DD off or I need to pick her up.

Oh - I have the best falling asleep at work story ever! When I was an intern in college I was working as a floater secretary in a big law firm, and we basically just covered for secretaries that were out of the office for whatever reason. I was on the "paralegal floor" for a while which was kind of the land of misfits because it was all paralegals and secretaries supporting them. One day I look over and see the secretary sitting at the desk next to me....UNDER HER DESK....TAKING A NAP!!! Of course I called all of the other college interns to come by and see the ridiculousness. Who does that?!
If you all could spare some good vibes for my friend, I would greatly appreciate it.
Last night she was violently attacked in her own home. She is in the hospital with lots of bruises, a broken nose and a broken jaw. She works 2 shifts a week at a bar. There has been this weird guy who comes in all the time when she works and has always given her the creeps. Well last night, unbeknown to her at the time, he followed her home.
I guess she walked up her front steps, unlocked her door and then went in. Her hands were full with bags so she did not immediately shut her front door. She put the bags down, turned around and there he was.
She lives in a condo, on the end unit so she only has one wall that shares with the neighbor. "Luckily" during the struggle, he threw her up against that wall and that startled the neighbor enough to wake him up and call the police. I just shutter to think what might have happened had the neighbor not heard the noise.
