I'll have one for you guys after the weekend! Replacing two big filing cabinets in our living room with cube storage for all of DS's toys. We hardly ever file paper anymore, and we REALLY need toy storage. Otherwise, I think most rooms are kind of a work-in-progress. I've never had a total "I was completely wrong, I'm changing everything" reaction, more "This worked in the interim but now I want it to be more like I'd *really* like it to be." Like, we decorated our wood-paneled t.v. room for awhile and it was okay, but then it was 100x better once we painted the paneling, changed out the outdated scalloped trim and paneled doors on the built-ins, built-in a bridge and entertainment center in the middle, put in hardwood, and installed recessed lighting. That's probably the transformation I'm proudest of, aside from the kitchen which you've all heard too much about (you've probably heard too much about my painted paneling also, but it's been awhile!).
Before:
In progress:
After (I DK why I don't have any good larger-view afters):
Now that I look at it, yes, I guess the cabinet-maker did change out the whole front, since it was all paneled. I didn't do any of it, we hired a cabinet-maker for all of it. I love it, *except* that he did inset doors, which I guess for most people are "better," but they actually drive me up the wall -- because I painted afterwards they stick a little, and they can accidentally get pushed inwards and are a pain to get out again. Overall, though, it's amazing how much better it looked just with those relatively minor changes -- the side bookcases and cabinets were pretty much the same aside from the front and trim.

OMG, like everywhere? I don't have sufficient before/after pics though.
My dark blue kitchen is now a light BM Manchester tan. My fugly granny curtains are gone (awaiting a new living room design). I'm sure you all remember those. I took down the white curtains in my master b/c it made the purple look too "little girl" - the charcoal pleated ones are SO MUCH BETTER. I took down the curtains in my family room too - I don't think they were right either.
Even DH sees the differences - it's amazing what good/bad design can do to a space.
I've wasted like $500 on ugly curtains (should I try to sell them on Craigslist?)

Yes. Curtains sell like *snap* here. I'd also try posting them on your local FB Yard Sale site.
I have no before pictures, but I'm on my 3rd master bedroom redo.
The first time it was all white with red, white, blue striped accent wall with coordinating stars in the Master. It was actually cute but just too much, too busy and I couldn't do a thing else with that overkilled theme. It also really wasn't me. My initial thought was that it work well with our overly country bedroom set from Hs childhood and it did but....a little too much.
I then painted it all back to white, did a series of black frames above our bed and some organic stick vase stuff with green bedding. It was okay but just really stark and once again too much stuff. And I tried to pull off the all white theme in our bathroom (with help from you guys) But it just looked stark and unfinished.
2 years ago I had the whole thing painted a light true gray. Bought some white bedding. Hung a mirror above the bed and called it a day. I love it and have no desire to change it now at all. I also get tons of compliments. It's so calm and relaxing. I have a striped side chair so my "fun" side shines through and that's good enough.
My LR is also on it's second redo (which in 10 years isn't bad) I went from all red and black to more muted gray with just hints of red and I love it too.
I will always love color and pattern but how I use it where and what colors are definitely changing as I age.

We keep moving before I get time to hate/remodel a room for the second time. With the exception of our formal living room here in the money pit, which has been re-arranged approximately 60 times and I still hate the layout.

I think once I land on something I really like, I keep it. Like my bedroom has been gray with white linens and purple accents for awhile. Spanning 2 houses, actually. But @justdairy is right, it's very calming.
I'm back at square 1 with my living room too, but I've not done jack to it. I am on the verge of needing a new couch (thanks, W!) so I'm holding off on any decisions.

Bedroom color twins! I have gray purple walls, relatively white bedding (it's ugly), charcoal headboard & curtains.

Well, I don't have pictures, but our house was new construction with the laundry room is right off the garage entry. For some reason when we moved in I thought rooms had to be painted ALL THE COLORS: the entry was Behr Lost Atlantis (a medium to dark blue), the half bath (attached) was Behr Embarcadero (a deep cranberry) and the laundry room was SW Blonde (a mid tone yellow). It took approximately two days for me to realize that a) I hate yellow paint and b) the cranberry made the otherwise large bathroom feel like a cave.
Laundry room is now BM Tapestry Beige, which is much more soothing. Bath has been repainted three times and I'm still not happy with it--currently SW Hardware, which looks lovely in almost every online photo I've seen, but reads army fatigue green in my room. Blech.
I don't have any room in our house even half done. The major change we did to the LR...now after living with it for most of a year, I don't like. I want to rearrange but H is putting his foot down as it will be too much work to move all the surround sound and cords and stuff around for the tv. But all winter we didn't use our fireplace because I hate the loveseat over by it, its completely uncomfortable. (and moving the main couch over there wouldn't work because then we'd have the hideous loveseat in front of the tv)
It would be every room in our house, haha! I don't think any room is done. They are all to the point where they are OK/livable. I have a mental list of things that need to happen to each room, but I am either too lazy, too cheap, or a combination of the two. We actually have a bedroom in the house that is empty, and we've lived there for 1.5 years, hah!
I second guess things all the time. I agonized over what chairs to buy for my living room. I eventually settled on chairs because they were the right price, but I don't love them. I don't think they just look right, but I refuse to pay a lot to replace them.
