The restoration guys from the insurance company came out. The kitchen is somewhere between half gone and totally gone, water seeped into the mud room closet, where it got onto our dining table inserts and my viola case. They haven't even gone into the crawl space yet to see if it went into the TV room bathroom.
The kitchen will be totally unusable for three days, and that's BEFORE they actually start replacing stuff. Which will probably take weeks.
11:15 isn't too early to drink hard liquor, right?

It's never too early to drink. I've been told shots at 6 am are okay here for the right occasion.
A girl I graduated with just posted on facebook that she just had her 7th (!!!) baby. We graduated in 2005 and she got married in 2007. So she’s be popping out almost a kid a year since then. I can’t imagine how crazy her house is.

I wish you could see my face. It really does look a lot like this guy: (huh)
Oh niq, that's terrible. I hope they can get it fixed quickly.
I am soooo tired. I had 3 glasses of wine last night, which is more than usual but not unheard of for me and well within my tolerance, so I'm not sure WTF is the problem today. I am actually wondering if I'm getting sick because it's that full body heavy tired rather than just sleepy. I'm leaving work a bit early since I've already worked 39 hours and I'm not allowed to work more than 40, so I hope I can take a nap.

Pretty sure they were all planned too. About half my hometown was a relgion that doesn't believe in birth control and have kids like crazy. 8-10 kids seemed to be about the average family size and I knew one guy who was the youngest of 22.

Have you been working out more? I know you said you joined PF. When I'm working out more, 2 drinks is enough to make it feel it in the morning sometimes, especially if I drink them right before I go to sleep. At least I'm a cheap date.

At first I read that as "the youngest at 22" and then I did a double take...that's like whoa. I can't even comprehend. I was going to ask whether it was a choice based on religious beliefs when you first posted, but I didn't want to be rude. Some people just might like having large families.
My boss left me in charge today and put me as the contact person on his out of office message. No wonder he always look tired and stressed. People are crazy and ask ridiculous things.

@buckybells, I'm kinda like you today. I had a few drinks last night for the first time in a week, and I'm really exhausted today. It's a good thing that I don't have a ton on my plate today.
My vent is that I am trying to wrap my head around paying over half a million dollars for a house that is the size of my first apartment. I heart HCOL.
I'm trying to figure out how I gained 12 pounds in 3 weeks. Pretty sure it is fluid with how swollen my leg and fingers are at the moment. Still depressing.

You know what is mildly annoying? My computer (and most people in the building) print to the department copier. I had to dig through pages and pages of printed recipes for Super Bowl food/personal credit card statements to find my printout for class.

Personal credit card statements?! If I printed that to a group printer, my ass would be right there ASAP. I don't need randoms knowing about the Uhura make-up bag I just bought thanks to meshaliuknits. Or you know, having my CC number. What is wrong with people today?
The oddest thing is I dug through the copies when I picked up my first set of handouts and they were still there when I went back for the second set a half hour later (and there were more recipes printed). Our taxes at work!

People are stupid. I've once found someone who left behind their driver's license on the glass to the printer. Bank statements and credit card statements were left on the regular. Now have have to sign in to printers to retrieve the print job, so it's less waste and no more accidentally leaving print outs to linger for hours.
My pretty pretty princess coworker pushed me too far this week and for the first time in my life I used BCC on emails. She is very careful to wait until the owners are at lunch and then is a complete bitch to people and yells and is mean to them. I told my boss she went too far, technically I'm her supervisor and I was doing what he asked and she got mad that I did it instead of her. The next morning, everyone was in so she started with emails! I forwarded a couple to my boss and then on others I replied on, I BCC'd him, asking her to address her concerns with him. Since then, she has been sweet as pie to me.
niq man, you have my condolences. I hope you're drinking.
I have a total FWP today. They're building a house next door. We live on small lots, so the next wall is like 10 feet away. They're at the "loud boombox blaring country music and nail-pounding stage." I really, really wanted to take a nap this afternoon. Thankfully DD can sleep through it with a fan, but DAMN IT I'M SO TIRRRREEDD.
niq I'm sorry, that really sucks. It sounds like it must have been quite a lot of water. This is kind of random, but if you're going to be without your kitchen for a few days or weeks I might suggest getting a portable induction cooktop (like this for example). Of course it's probably not worth it if you don't have induction-compatible pans (cast iron or with stainless steel in them), but if you cook on the stove a lot it works well as a portable replacement.
Geebus niq, that's horrible. It's never too early to drink. Did your mom actually apologize? MsNiq is a SAINT b/c that would make me want to throw a chick out. For real.
Yeah she apologized (to me at least) and I'm sure feels immensely guilty about the whole thing. I mean in the grand scheme of things that are "on mom's tab", this isn't even that big. It's the inconvenience that's harder to deal with.
On the plus side, msniq didn't like the cabinets that came with the house?

I have had medical issues since November and I am tired of it. I have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and now he thinks I have celiac. I have to go gluten free. I think I am doing it right but it is stressing me out. I will be a pain going out now and the websites freak me out about cross-contamination. I keep telling myself to do the best I can so I am trying to concentrate on meals one to two days out. I hope going GF helps my health problems!
niq - that sucks! Hopefully, you guys can turn it into a positive with the renovations. Good luck!
