I'm doing some work at the Starbucks on campus today. I'm going incognito in my college sweatshirt and yoga pants. Doubtful that anyone would mistake me for a college student, LOL.
I don't FEEL any older than when I was in college!

We had family pics today for DD turning 3 and DS turning 6mo. Of course the toddler was up all night, so we were cranky to begin with, and then she was a heathen for the pics as well. Gah. Our photog is awesome though, and I always am pleasantly surprised with how the pics turn out. I'm nervous this time, though! The photog is so great though, and she has four kids, so she gets it. She said it's hard because my DD is so verbal, that you expect her to have the maturity of an older kid.... so true!
DD2 has been sick since Thurs afternoon. I swore I was going to take her to the doctor this am, but of course even though she's really sniffly she has no fever and is doing twirls and chasses down the hall. I'm sure she's going to feel worse this afternoon, but I can't imagine they'll tell me anything I didn't know (rest, liquids, etc). Kids are weird. I was going to babysit my niece tonight, but my sister was concerned I was a contagion. Score!
I think I'm going to make a carmelized onion dip for the superbowl.
Baby was up from 5:30-7, got him back to sleep and went back to sleep myself. At 8:30, one of DD's friends' moms called about a play date and woke me up. Waaaaaa!
She also sounded really surprised that I was "still" sleeping. Uh, is it me or is 8:30 pretty early to call someone on a Saturday?
I would say that you were napping vs. "still sleeping" since you were up from 5:30-7. Small point, but I see it as different from sleeping in.
I keep my cell phone on silent all the time except when M is at daycare because MIL has a bad habit of texting early in the morning. I also have the ringer on the bedroom location of our home phone turned off (living room phone ringer is on). DON'T INTERRUPT MY SLEEP.
Well, DD, who is the same age as her DD, was "still" sleeping, which is what greatly facilitated my falling back asleep. So I wasn't going to quibble.
I keep my phone on bc I'm nervous that an emergency will come up. I'm often going to bed before DH even gets home from work.
H and I got into a bit of a fight last night. This morning he let me sleep in and made me breakfast. Crepes and bacon. I guess this means I have to forgive him now!

So pissed. DS1's birthday party is in a few hours and DH's side the family all just cancelled. There is a lot of history but they are basically saying it's our fault anyway for bullshit reasons (like us canceling thanksgiving travels 2 years ago when we were puking and other ridiculousness).
Freaking car naps. Dd2 had music class this morning and fell asleep at some point during the 5 min car ride home. So of course she's refused her nap for the last hour and a half. She needs her nap (and I need her to nap!).
DS is napping and I'm taking a bath with a Lush bath bomb after reading about them here. This one is pink and has a bunch of little hearts hidden inside. I'll let you know if it was worth the almost $7!
fussybutt14 have you guys tried more of a cash system? We're going to that bc we're having difficulties sticking with staying within the budget. I SAH too and it's hard sometimes bc getting out of the house usually means spending money.
@beachgirl7 I think this is a good idea for the issues you describe. We're also having good luck with YNAB, we just started this year. It helps us see what we're "allowed" to spent so-to-speak, which has curbed my husband's incessant "we spend too much money!" talks. Because now he SEES that, wow dog food IS expensive, and so is has for his truck (for example).

What?! How does that make any kind of sense. What a mean hurtful thing to do to you and poor DS1. I'm sorry.
DS just fell out of his chair into another chair and has a massive goose egg. MASSIVE.
I consulted Dr. Google and will be on the lookout for a concussion, but I think all there really is for it is ice on and off. Poor baby. I'm embarrassed to take him out - he looks so sad and neglected. HE WAS JUST SITTING ON A CHAIR. Not even a "he slipped on the ice" story here.
So I bought Uncrustables. DS likes PB&J, but has been refusing it lately. I thought if it was sort of different, he might give it a try again.
I go to pull one out of the freezer at lunchtime. Check the box for how long to throw it in the microwave.
You have to pull them out of the freezer 8-10 HOURS before so they can thaw! I thought the Uncrustable would be so I could be lazy. I have to plan to be lazy 8-10 hours ahead of time?!

DD is currently not napping. She refused to not take her little barn and "talking" animals into her crib, so all I've heard for the last 2 hours is "quack quack" "moo" "oink", etc.
DD keeps taking her diaper off every single time she sleeps, peeing all over everything. We are down to 2 crib sheets. She takes it off like panties and duct tape isn't keeping it on. I need to dig out the old sleep sacks and put them on backwards or something. IT IS MAKING ME FUCKING FURIOUS TO HAVE TO CLEAN UP PEE CRIB AND CHILD TWICE A DAY.
DH is OOT, the dogs want to go in and out 500 times a day (but not at the same time!), I still don't feel well, and I have a shitton of work to do. I really, really, really want to just run away until after bedtime when DH gets home today but I can't bc, work. The best I can do is lock myself in the office that just has everything thrown haphazardly about because we are in the process of switching offices, including painting, while I work. Blah.
DD is napping. I am on the couch with my feet wrapped in Baby Feet peels. I am looking forward to the carnage of dead skin in 2-7 days.
Our snow forecast keeps getting upgraded - I think we're up to 10-14" now. We haven't really gotten any good snows this winter. I'm excited. I love snow storms!
Oh my goodness guys the inside of the house was awesome. After 5 minutes inside DH said he loved it and all the way home all we could come up with were positives (minus the commute).
30-40 min in Houston is actually a pretty normal commute. Does the area have a park n ride nearby? My FIL started using one and loves it. He says it makes mornings much more relaxing because he can just sit and read or sleep.
