L's friend's mom emailed: "[KID] was wondering if [Law] was free to come over for a play date tomorrow? We're pretty much open all day until about 4 pm. We are right around the corner off [address]."
The kids are 5 and in class together. We've never had any sort of playdate with them before. The parents are super nice and sarcastic (my kinda people).
When my oldest turned 5, suddenly all play dates became drop offs. I still think it can go either way if you're uncomfortable leaving her there. I'd email her and say "WE would love to come over! Can I bring anything?" or else say "I'll drop her off at ____ and will plan to pick her up at ____." It's prob a little weird for the other mom, too. Personally, I love it when the parents drop-off. I don't want to entertain a sort-of stranger:)
