Probably not. I still have to remind my nephew on a regular basis to cover his mouth in general let alone HOW to cover it. If the kid is young, kudos to her for even getting him/her to cover their mouth at all.
No. But I did think it while eating lunch at Costco today. The kid was 6 or 7. But I absolutely didn't say anything. Because that would be weird. And rude. And, just, no.
No, I wouldn't call them out. Considering most adults still cough into their HANDS. At 2.5, I can 1000% forgive a kid for not knowing. At least he was trying!
Ok thank you. I got called out in the grocery store because my 2.5 year old was coughing into his wrist instead of his arm.
WTF? That's crazy town. I hope you gave her The Look and kept on truckin'.
That is exactly what I did. Her comment was "you should teach him how to cough into his arm (demonstrates) so he doesn't get everyone around him sick."

"And your mother should have taught you to mind your own business"
I got called out by a lady on the bus earlier this year.
H had driven Jack to the ER at the crack of dawn, so I didn't have our car. I ended up having to take Henry to the pedi ( both boys ended up admitted to the hospital with enterovirus) with a scarf wrapped around his face and sat at the very front of the bus with him nuzzled into me.
She was muttering comments about his random cough and then escalated to how awful of a parent I am for taking him out of the house when he obviously needed to be home in bed. That's when I turned around and said H had taken Jack to the ER with our one car, I tried to get a nonexistent cab, I was taking him to the doctor so how did she suggest I get there?
I'm also guessing that we can't even partially excuse it because she was older than old and no longer has a filter, right? The really old little ladies probably don't know that the recommendation changed from covering with your hands to coughing into your elbow.
Good for your son for ANY attempt at covering his mouth while coughing!
I had no idea there was a name for this. But no, I mind my own business and would never dream of saying anything. Plus I'm impressed he was even using his wrist. That's more than many of my coworkers do.
