How long is your hair? Can you do multiple pineapples? I generally do 4 or so loose ones and in the am I have to lightly spritz my hair to wake it up so to speak and then I vigorously shake my head and use my fingers to fluff it.

It's layered. When straight, the front is just just below my chin and the back just above BSL, but with the twists, it's all basically chin.
I can do that, yes. What do you use to spritz? Just water or a mixture? Also, how do you prevent the twists from going all crazy directions?
You have a lot more loose ish hair than I do. You probably won't need the spritz. I generally have to get mine for being matted down. I would probably only do one or two loose pineapples and pin curl the wayward twist in the am while I am getting ready. How is it in the back?

The back is not as wayward but it is more matted/flat. Thank you! Ok, I am going to do two (four was coming out like kid ponytails almost so this is good to know) and some pin curls and see. I think you are right about spritzing, however, because it looks dry.
It really looks good, if all else fails tuck and pin the crazy ones and make it as big and fun as possible.
Sorry I'm also no help. I've tried a semi-modified pineapple thing, but doesn't do shit for me.
Like Kirkette, in order to keep my twists looking decent I have to retwist. When I'm on top of my game I'll retwist every 2 nights.
I usually wash on Sun. Wear it in twists on Mon and Tues, untwist for Wed and Thurs, have good intentions to retwist on Thurs, but get lazy and just let it afro out until Sun.
So I only wear wash and go, but was having the same problem because it would all be matted down and flat when I took my bonnet off on day two. And my hair is too short to pineapple. So last night, I did 4 pony tails (one on each side, one in the front for my bangs and one in the back) and put my bonnet on. It seemed to work pretty good. I had to fluff and spritz a lot to get my hair to settle. Oh, and before I did my ponytails I spritzed each section and applied some Hair Dew.
I don't know what Hair Dew is but it sounds up my alley! I am about to find out now lol.
@246baje, I knew that, but I still figured it was worth tagging the posters I know to be naturals. If nothing else, you won't get a sold a dream on how to maintain a twist out in the future .
Thanks, guys . If nothing else, you all have proven what I suspected, which is that just pulling my hair up in one "pineapple" was not going to be effective.
If it's what I'm thinking of, Hair Dew Is by Oyin Handmade. They sell it a Target. I also like the pomade and juice and berries.
Pineapple never worked for me. I usually make 8 big twists and put on a satin scarf. Untwist in the AM and fluff. I can get a week out of that. Around day 4 I spritz with water and do this. If I spritz before that it just gets frizzy.
This is what my 12 year old does. She has more hair than I do, and she retwists at night and pulls it into a low ponytail and covers it with a satin cap.
If I want to preserve a twist out, I retwist it after two days and use a stain scarf to tie it down. This Yolanda Renee video is pretty much the way I do my hair if I'm retwisting at night.

Thanks! How do you secure the twists to keep them from unraveling at night?
Are you adding any product back to your hair? Also, put some shea butter on the ends of my hair and twirl the ends to keep my hair from unraveling.
If you spritz your hair, use a conditioner and water mix. That seems to work really well for my 3 yr old who has super fizzy hair.
And I will admit that I don't try to control my hair. I have come to the true natural state of letting it do whatever it the heck it wants to do. I usually twist my hair up on either a Sun or Mon night and let it get to BAA (Big Ass Afro) status by the weekend. It saves me the hassle of trying to achieve certain looks I've seen on social media. Also, flexi-rods don't work for me. I'm tempted to use the Curlformers, but I know I don't have the patience for it.
