So I am trying to get outfits together for family photos... I have no idea what I'm doing so REALLY would appreciate any input.
FWIW - my cardigan is a deep orange. I don't know if it looks red in the photo or not, but it is definitely not the same shade as my husband's pants, but is a deep orange/red-ish color... I want to coordinate but not "match", I'm not sure if I'm trying too hard with the color combos, or if my cardigan is not similar enough and is actually clashing...
Is it annoying if the color is different than mine?
He has darker wash that I think would look nice, but if they are different than mine would that look bad? I was trying to not have to match jeans... I do think that is something to lay out and try, though.
Thanks! (He would love to not wear the orange pants, too, so that may be our solution.)

Scrap the orange pants or pair them with a netral solid shirt or scrap your cardigan. I'd do a different shirt for him since small patterns typically don't photograph well at all. The shirt you have for him is already doing a crazy optical illsuion thing which may not work out in photos. I would actually put a colored polo (maybe bright yellow) on your DC since you probably want focus to really be on your child. Different washes of jeans wont be nearly as bad as clashing colors.
I say nix the orange pants and do khaki's instead. If no khaki's, jeans would work for him too. I wouldn't be bothered at all by different colored denim, in fact I like it better than matching your jeans.
Thank you so much for the suggestions! I laid out a lighter and darker pair of khakis and I really didn't like that, so here are a few other options. I like the gray sweater (me) with jeans (him), but also feels that it is a bit 'dark' for summertime photos... Will you vote on the following options?
