I called to check on DD since she is still fussy from her shots and the director wanted to let me know there is a confirmed case of the flu in the infant room. Any anecdotes to share? Maybe she wont get it because she isn't mobile yet and sharing toys, etc? That's the last thing anyone needs!
Shit, zarapipe. Sending "no flu" vibes your way! But yes, I think if she's not mobile yet and isn't at the shoving-everything-in-her-mouth stage yet, her chances are good of not getting it.
I would take the rest of the week off work. I am very sensitive to this though because C had/has rsv (all 4 kids in his room have it). They are all 3-6 months old but they interact, do tummy time together, etc so it's conceivable that they are close enough to cough/sneeze on each other at times.
Happy anecdote here! One of the teachers in G's infant room got the flu. G didn't get it and I don't think any of the kids did either. She was working before she felt ill and was contagious.
Yes, I did get the shot while I was pg. I only got it a few weeks before delivery though bc it didn't come out here till September.
I wish taking time off was an option but I just don't have the time. DD1 has a dentist apt tomorrow and a parent teacher conference on Friday so I am actually going to be picking up the baby up at noon tomorrow and two on Friday which would help.

DS's 3 year old room had confirmed flu last month, and only the one child got it. As long as your daycare is on top of sanitizing all the time (not just during times of known illness), there is a very good chance your kiddo won't get it.
So sorry! DS had the flu shortly after his first dose of the vaccine. He was miserable for a couple of days, but it was overall pretty mild -- no high fever, minimal symptoms, etc.
DD had a confirmed case in her preschool class a few weeks ago, and no one else in the class caught it.
