Daycare wants something that's plastic, has a lid, and doesn't leak. Does anybody have one of the Camelbak or Nalgene ones? Are they good? Any other recommendations?

I use the Camelbak Eddy. It doesn't have a lid but the straw flips down to close it. My DS would chew through other plastic straws in minutes, but he doesn't chew through the Camelbak.
Anything will leak if you put really cold liquid into it and then it warms up. It's physics and will just happen. I put tap water in the Contigo bottles and they don't leak when it warms to room temperature. We have 6 of them between the two kids (it's all we use now for water) and I don't know that any of them have leaked a drop!
*I also have adult Contigo bottles that look almost identical, but are bigger. They DO leak if left open and on their side.
I like the Contigo ones too now that DD is older. Pretty spill proof. I don't love the inner seal set up for milk though, but I think I'm the only crazy with that problem. Ha.
We used these exclusively with DD until she was 3.25. She loved those things and I did too. It's all she would take from 12 months on (She didn't like regular sippies). I just got tired of her chewing the straws and having to order replacements. They also started to get gross after 2 years of use so it was time to be done all together. However, I think I'll be buying more for DS tomorrow as well. He has the same bottle addiction issues as his sister..ha.

You're not alone. I sing the praises of Contigo, but only use it for water. I only use ziplock take & toss for milk...and only at the table.
We have contigo and funtainer bottles and both are great. The funtainer ones keep the water cold for hours so I love using them in the summer. No leaking issues with either, but we only use them for water.
