I think the problem with our Congress is that we have a massive over-representation of only one walk of life (white, male, upper class, Christian). I'm not sure I would go for specific traits as much as just for diversity in general: white, black, Hispanic, Asian, male, female, working class, upper class, middle class, Muslim, Jewish, atheist, Christian, etc. etc. etc. It would be nice to have a Congress that approximately represented the actual demographics of our country.

This would never happen, but it would be great if all reps experienced working in a service industry. Hell, I think our whole country would benefit from that.
They would need to know the price of a gallon of milk and a gallon of gas off the top of their head. Anyone serving on any committee must pass a rigorous exam on that subject. Ie if you are on the Science, Space and Technology committee, you better know shit about science, space and technology.
I would like to see congress set up to more accurately represent the races and political leanings in our country. And under 50. And with term limits. And a smaller paycheck.
Be able to intelligently discuss the following issues from multiple points of view: American history white privilege gender disparities in society and the economy basic economic theory
asking too much? Okay, how about they at least are able to get a decent score on the SATs.
