Long story short - I have a wedding this weekend and recently found out I was pregnant...my pants not fitting should have been a clue. As this is my 3rd, I am horribly bloated, but can fit into my OLD high school ball dress. It's a very matronly cut as I was extremely self-conscious of being "top heavy" in high school...so please help and make me not look like the mother of the bride.
Pictures this dress sans jacket, in light gray and with the diagonal going in one direction and not two..I have silver evening shoes and need help with accessories. Am thinking I could make it to F21 / Charming Charlie / Macy's on the lunch break.
Am normally somewhat fashionable, but am too tired to think these days! You all are so good at this, I would really appreciate any help!
I can't really picture the dress without the jacket. Does it have sleeves? Is it a tank dress? The fact that its gray also throws me off, since that sounds a little drab, but that all depends on the venue and type of wedding.
I think it will still look matronly, and agree with future.
Could you put the dress on and take a picture of yourself in it, and then PIP? That would help.
But, it sounds like you're not interested in wearing anything else anyway, so I guess there's not much we can do in that regard. Since its a long dress, jewelry may not make that big of a difference, but that will all depend on where the neckline falls on you and how wide the sleeves/straps are. A picture of the dress on you will give us a better idea of what kind of jewelry to recommend.
The dress is from '98, so no picture available and the color is a very light gray. The style on top is tank, with a bit of a lower back.
I am not interested in buying a new dress since my other dresses fit, they'll just show before I'm ready to tell.
thanks.
I'm really sorry, but this made me laugh. The dress is from 98...so take a pic and post it. It's not like it doesn't exist.
Even better, but it ON, take a pic and post it. Feel free to chop your head off and delete later if you're shy, but we can't help you if we don't know what you are talking about.
I have got to say that that dress is awful with or without the jacket. Don't you have a cute empire waist dress in your closet that isn't 15 years out of date?

Honestly, I'm not the biggest fashionista, but I also have 3 kids and have been around the pregnancy/wedding block. It's not like people will actually think you are the MOB, and unless there's someone like an ex boyfriend or frenemy that you are dying to impress, no one will be critiquing you. They are all looking at the bride, and maybe the bridesmaids. And if there is someone you really feel the need to impress, then do buy a new dress that you feel great in.
Pretty much, though, you are not going to feel like you look great if you are bloated and hiding a pregnancy at this point. Just go buy some accessories that you love and will still love later. Since you have gray and silver, you can keep it to more silver, or add pretty much any color: pink, blue, purple, ...
Get your hair done or do it in a way you think is really pretty.
But I think the suggestion of silver/blingy accessories is good, or doing a little color like turquoise would be pretty. Honestly I think the dress looks really frumpy. A belt might help, but it's so hard to picture it.
