We went to a steak house for our first date night in over 2 months. I ordered the filet mignon and noticed the familiar prickling so I stopped and took 2 Benadryl. We got the check and went to the ER because I was having trouble breathing. While we were waiting (and wtf at "oh you're having trouble breathing? Have a seat and we'll call you") the Benadryl finally helped open my throat so we went home.
Uh yeah, they shouldn't have dismissed you so quickly. I'm sorry, hopefully you can figure out what the reaction was from so you can avoid it! Glad you're ok!
The only reason why I didn't raise a fuss is 1. I would lose my breath when I tried to talk and 2. I knew the code blue team was mere steps away. Plus there was bound to be at least one ER nurse with epi in his/her pocket.
That was really scary though. It escalated so quickly that it was hard for me to walk in the door despite H parking in the circle drive by the entrance. I'm baffled as to what I'm allergic to.
