So this weekend I had a dream that I was laying on a flat pallet flying through the air. It was tipping sideways so I was hanging on for dear life. Then someone intentionally tipped me off of it and I realized it was a training exercise for some program I was in (don't know what) and I feel into really deep water and had to swim my way out. I woke up when I was swimming.

I haven't read Divergent yet... I need to get on that
There is a lot of reading that I need to work on. Started Gone Girl on the cruise back in December, still haven't finished it. And it is getting really good. Just can't bring myself to read at home. I take it to my hair appointments since I am usually there for a while.

why can't/won't you read at home?
I love curling up with a book.
I don't know. I didn't used to have this problem. I love reading.
Now that I think about, I have at least 4 books started just waiting to be finished.

I just disconnect the two. A book is a book and the movie is an interpretation of the book. They don't have to be exactly the same. Usually reading the book first gives you insight that makes the movie more enjoyable.

I try to do this too. Except for the Golden Compass, I yelled at the end of the movie because they left out the last chapter and it is crucial for setting up the next book/movie. But I tried to check myself and remember that they also made a play out of the book which isn't quite the same either.
I'm in camp book first, movie second. I also like to think about the movie just being an interpretation of the book and it doesn't much bother me if the movie doesn't exactly follow the book.
If I read the book first I become irrational angry at the movie. An exception to this is when the movie goes so far off from the book, you have to keep reminding yourself that it was based on a book. Example: "Fever Pitch". Book and movie are connected only with title and an obession with a sport.
This reminds me of the other night when I was yelling at the TV show "Sirens". The one character was explaining the plot of "Serendipity" and getting it wrong. I was yelling the corrections at the TV and H was just rolling his eyes while hoping I stopped.
sparksfly that's like me and the show Bones. I couldn't watch it for the longest time because I've read all the Kathy Reichs books about Temperance Brennan. They are SO completely different I had to just think of it as a parallel universe.
