My mom and dad left my house yesterday to drive home to Ohio. My dad spent the entire trip here not feeling well, but insisted that he was ok to drive back.

Well, last night they stopped somewhere in Nevada and this morning they are headed to the hospital. I have no more details so now I'm vaguely freaking out. Egads.

I just heard from mom. Apparently dad was just not feeling well and she insisted that he see a doctor - the hospital was the only available option - no urgent care where they were.

So far, at least, he's got a heart arrythmia, low oxygen, possible anemia, possible pneumonia, and dehydration.

Sigh. At least they only got a day's drive away before this happened. I can get there reasonably quickly if mom needs me.

I hope everything turns out ok. It will be more stressful than it had to be because they're not near home, his doctors, etc., but hopefully it's something they can stabilize and get him home to where he can be more comfortable soon.

Lots of T&Ps coming your way! A friend had a similar situation with her parents recently, and her dad ended up having a heart blockage they knew nothing about (he had surgery). So glad your parents stopped to get it checked out!

Oh noooo, sweetie I will be praying for him. I'm glad your mom got him checked out. I know when my husband doesn't feel well, I practically have to hog tie him to get him into a doctor's office.

Poor guy! It's a horrible feeling when a parent is really ill. I am glad they made it safely to a place where he could get some medical care. Hope he feels better soon!
