Right now I would actually equate that with an attempt to cash in on Hunger Games fanaticism over racial overtones, but I can certainly understand it upsetting people.
Edit: to clarify I wouldn't have made it or okayed it either way

I understand what they are selling, they're selling "actions" for photoshop, which is like a pre-made filter for pictures to save time so you don't have to do all the steps yourself.
From what I can tell they sell creative editing software right? Like for graphic designers and photographers? I still don't understand this marketing campaign. What image are they trying to project? Weird and offensive.
My designer is clearly showing because I'm all "HOW CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE SELLING?!?!?"
Yes, it's obviously a specialized market. Just looking at that ad is gibberish to me. "Resources for creatives" could mean anything, and the picture doesn't help to explain it.
Yeah, I'm assuming (and this is obviously just a guess) that this particular batch of actions are for making photos dark/creepy/ethereal which is what the photo is supposed to illustrate, but it's badly done all around
Why would you call it that? Maybe they're trying to use that hanging tree song in their ads and just didn't put two and two together? This is terrible.
And their defensiveness about it is almost more offensive than the campaign.
Well, they TRIED to explain it, but YOU ALL JUST WON'T LISTEN! I feel this was followed by someone sticking their tongue out. The "freedom" tirade doesn't even really make sense to me:
"Our product is about having "freedom" not the act of causing anymore harm. We as a company are using our artistic freedom and expression to take a stand against hate and will continue to do so."
What? What hate is that picture standing against? Am I missing something?
How can they NOT know this is offensive, or even think about what the "hanging tree" in the hunger games song implies?
Because ARTISTIC FREEDOM!!! (That makes it not offensive.) PLUS, it totes happened a really long time ago. We should lighten up & get over it. Not everything is about race, okay? Stop trying to ruin her livelihood. ::A brief montage of the fuckery from that page::
