I can crew for you ladies, if that's something you need/desire. I don't live too far from Tahoe and I love the area.
Absolutely!
Also, if it's not bordering into creeper-land, feel free to plan to crash at my place and I can just drive you up the hill. (ktzmoh and @vtcupcake and @kirkette and Mushe and a few other people can vouch for me. I'm normal. Mostly.)

mrs.jacinthe is the best! I could definitely help crew too, if you do that one, blndsnbrdr

That stinks but hopefully he will honor his word and give refunds. Are you interested in any 100 mile races? The javalina jundred gets rave reviews here in Phoenix but isn't until October.
I've heard awesome things about their races, including the Across the Years 6 Day race -- was [am?] secretly hoping they'd pick up a few of the Solemates' races and just run them...but I haven't heard anything on that yet. I'm definitely looking at what they have coming up tho, the RDs are incredible!
My friend does ATY's! She got second last year .
Also you could do RAG in May---260 miles across the state--http://www.runfortheheroes.com/plaintext/raceinfo /registration.aspx
It's only $125! Also--you could do TransRockies--120 miles 6 days, but it's a stage race across the mountains. I think it's pretty hard. Why not try for Leadville or Western States? Or Death Valley?

ATY is on the agenda for this coming year. I was one click away from an entry list past year when work got in the way.
Oh, RAG looks interesting!
TransRockies is crazy expensive! Like $900 for the 3 day, $1600 for the 6 day -- I mean, they do pretty much everything but run for you [set up your tents, etc] so you're getting what you're paying for but...wow!
Thanks for all the input [everyone!] -- I'm finding races I didn't even know existed, this may all turn out for the best!

Okay...I'm resurrecting this because I have the opportunity to run the Colorado 200M for the same price as the Arizona 200M...
And I can't decide what to do!
I have time to decide and am not allowing myself to respond with an official answer until after I get back from Chile in late March but, here are my thoughts.
The CO200 is July 13-17 [yes, M-F] with a 96 hour cutoff and about 42K of elevation gain and loss. It'll be hot and cold and stormy and sunny -- a lot of the race will be above 10K feet and being above treeline after 2pm is dangerous because of electrical storms. Obviously I won't head over a pass in the middle of an electrical storm...but that also means me being smart about safety may result in missing a cutoff, which is icky.
That said, safety isn't really something I'm worried about right now -- I'll make a in the moment decision with the help of my crew/pacers.
My real hesitation is crew/pacers. This race is M-F, which IMHO is kind of stupid...the RDs aren't capitalizing on any weekends which makes finding crews/pacers really hard. My go-to crew/pacer for the AZ200 will be in Tennessee running an unsupported 500K [Vol State] so he'll be useless as a pacer...and to ask him to take another week off work to crew [even if it is as a contractor] is a little selfish.
On top of that...the CO200 is literally the week after the Hardrock 100M so a large group of my crew/pacer friends will be using up their free time/PTO on volunteering/crewing/pacing the Hardrock, which I cannot fault them for -- if I have my way I'll be there too. To add to that problem the RDs of the CO200 are asking for 2 volunteers from me since I'm paying less than the $925 fee...which is HARD to bribe out of people with the M-F and Hardrock issue.
I'd love to do this race because it's not taking any more money out of my pocket [pending AZ200 refunds] and I'm in a position to put the time/effort into running the race competitively [and I have the support I need to be smart/well trained going into the race...just not after I start]. I think I can do it and I think I can be good at it.
I'm kind of just sharing this for thoughts/opinions/two cents for y'all -- I'm not entirely certain what I'm doing yet. I keep bouncing between "nah" and "omg, YES!".
[and this isn't public knowledge on the internet -- I haven't even really talked about my AZ200M being off the table yet, just in case you know me IRL/outside H&F!]
Oh man, that is a really hard decision. Honestly, I would be wary of signing on under those conditions, but I'm also a newbie to ultra running. I think it would really depend on whether people are able to help crew.
