Ugh, work is a bit stressful lately, I've been trying to limit my net-browsing but wanted to check in and say "hi". They did some layoffs, it wasn't good, and now I feel pressured to keep busy all the time so I don't give them a reason to have me next in line to be let go. I hate feeling that insecure about my job after I was feeling so good about it a few months ago.
Random thoughts/stories from my world:
- I started watching the Master Chef Junior probably a month or so ago. It was cold the other night and the trash needed to be taken out to the curb for trash day, so while watching it, the H made a bet with me over which kid-chef was going through to the finale and the loser had to take the trash out. It was during the commercial break after they announced the first contestant through to the finals, but before they announced the other one who made it through. I ended up being right, muahahha! That show is actually really cool and the kids are so incredibly talented, they put my cooking skills to shame!
- I made another spaghetti squash dish last week and it did not turn out as well as the first time. Maybe it wasn't ripe yet? How do you tell if the spaghetti squash is ripe? Or maybe I just didn't bake it long enough, it didn't string up as well as the first time and ended up coming out in clumps instead of strings. But I plan to try it again, we still ate my clumpy-spaghetti-squash dish.
- Got a sewing machine from mom for my birthday, so I hope to start practicing a bit here and there to re-learn how to do minor things. I mostly want to be able to do my own hemming and small sewing projects. I'm kind of excited, but nervous about screwing something up and possibly ruining a good pair of pants. I have some old clothes that don't fit to practice on, so hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.
Sorry to hear about the layoffs, but that is definitely a good reason to not post during the day. I hope you are feeling better about it soon. We miss you too!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the layoffs. That is so frustrating!
I also watch MC and I am amazed at how supportive the kids are to each other. One of the girls was freaking out and Andrew calmed her down and told her what to do. Another girl forgot an ingredient and Andrew again gave it to her. Adults would be all cut-throat, whereas the kids are all about helping/sharing.

I saw that episode and I was also impressed at the support!
Maybe not all kids are jerks after all.
After watching Hell's Kitchen and the way the adults act towards each other in the heat of a competition, it's so refreshing to see the kids set a better example.
