Two fun stories of the day... worker's comp claim in which her client was involved (car accident), I'm not sure what the protocol is so off to investigate.
Also just spent 15 minutes on the phone with social security because they are investigating a woman who is claiming less wages than she's being paid... and they also needed me to explain how she is paid, the waiver program... adsadfsnfklnskd

I have only had to directly deal with a W/C case once in my life and it was such a damn joke.
Employee was a labor guy. He fell of like the 2nd rung of a latter and then proceeded to croppy flop on the floor in so much pain that you thought he fell from 2 stories up. He was quite a good actor. But the problem was, his fellow employees say him walking into work already in pain so they knew something was up.
Turns out he got into a fight with his gf the night before and fell into his glass coffee table.
My BIL wants to use his dad's name as my new nephews middle name. That name also happens to be XH's name. My sister says BIL is insistent on it, even though his brother already gave his son their dad's name as a middle. My sister just hates the name, hates it, and wants to use my uncles name as a middle, which consequently is H's name. I really hope my sister wins this one.
DH thoughtfully started my car this morning for me so that it would warm up, but it stalled, and neither of us noticed, and the battery died. So I took his car to work today (he has Fridays off). His car is so much bigger than mine! I'm not used to it, at all.
I'm participating in a Lean In circle at work. One of the women in my circle was commenting on the fact that it's difficult to get promotions in our office, and was saying how our program manager fought for a promotion for her, but she has had some people accuse her of her success being because she's one of the PM's favorites. She most definitely deserved the promotion, and I'm sorry that people have implied that she didn't, but I was told by my manager that I couldn't be promoted because the PM didn't rely on me like he does on some of my CWs (i.e. his favorites), so from my position, it sounded an awful lot like a "my diamond shoes are too tight" complaint. It was frustrating.
sparksfly what questions do you have in terms of searching for a therapist? I agree that someone who specializes in grief, especially a certified (registered?) thanatologist, could be very helpful. I also think finding someone who can work with self-esteem and/or depression could be helpful. I don't know what the different licenses are in your state, but I can look into it. For you and YH together, I'm biased and want to recommend an MFT, but again I have to look into licenses in your state. You can also get lists from EAP and your insurance, call, and ask questions. It's a good way to get a sense whether or not you'll click with a therapist.
captainmel for you I'd recommend looking for a therapist who specializes in working with ADHD. Procrastination is not at all uncommon with ADHD. Mindfulness could be helpful for you as well. If you have specific questions please ask and I'll do my best to answer/help.
