...of lurkdom. Hey ladies! I've been creepin' on you all for way longer than I'd even like to admit so it's probably about time I come out to play.
I'm a 30 year old, married, stay at home mom (former hairstylist). I own too much nail polish and make-up. I don't own any bubble necklaces, and I don't think I could really pull one off anyway. I love clothes and shoes, but being that I SAH with my daughter, I don't get fussed up as often as I'd like.
ANOTHER HAIRSTYLIST!! Yay! Welcome, and I'm so glad you came out of lurkdom Any chance you would mind suggesting a red hair dye for me from Sally's? I'm totally confused about the numbers used in the formulas and trying to figure out how to pick a color that works with my coloring.
Now you are going to regret coming out of lurking lol
GoDawgs, I must say I was laughing so hard the other day when you told the girls how they said you looked younger as a blond when you had dark hair, and now they were telling you to go back to dark haha. I really liked the dark hair on you though, but I love reds too, too bad they are hard to maintain.
GoDawgs, the best way to go about it is to look at the numbers (level of color) from 1-12, with 1 being black and 12 the lightest blonde imaginable. Every color line is different but basically a level 5 or 6 is going to be the middle of the road. Then the letters represent the shade so a 5BR would be a medium level brown with red tones, which from the pics you posted, I'd say is what you are looking for. It's always easier to darken a color if it is too light than it is to lighten it so just check swatches, if a level 5 looks too dark, go with a 6. If a BR looks too red, you can mix it with a N (neutral). I think i would just shy away from any straight R color or anything with a C (copper). Hope that I didn't make that too confusing for you. I myself have a red/brown haircolor so I know how tricky it can be to achieve that perfect red. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!!

Thank you!!!!! This is really, really helpful. Based on what you are saying, I'm looking at these. Thoughts?
I've totally hijacked your post and made it all about my hair. Sorry
I'm thinking that I will do L'Oreal Excellence Browns Extreme Light Auburn. It is BR5 light auburn brown. This chick used it, although her original hair color (which she first bleached) and coloring are different than mine.
Dawgs- that is the one i was going to suggest. The Burgundy is pretty but I'd be worried about the violet under tones. Definitely use 10 volume and if you fade out quickly, try to use a demi permanent color to refresh it. Good luck!!!

Awesome!! Thank you so, so much for your help!! I also didn't know I could use a demi permanent color to refresh, so that's great to know!
