I have no sense of style whatsoever and my sister says that I dress like I am 16 still, which I can't argue with. I live in jeans and "cutesy" t-shirts. When I am not wearing those shirts, I have band t-shirts on. I do wear suits to work, but am hopefully getting a new job that is casual dress.
I don't know where to buy jeans that fit properly, I have trouble getting ones to fit my fat giant thighs and my thinner waist. I also need new shirts badly but don't know where to begin to find ones that don't look like old lady shirts.
I am 26, and can't really afford to buy a lot of designer clothes, but would like to be able to get some staple clothes. I prefer bootcut jeans, usually, but other than that, I don't know! Help!
I'm the opposite and am bad about wearing clothes that are too old for me.
I have always had the problem of fat thighs with a thinner waist. I'm plus size now, but even back when I was a size 8 (and then 10, then 12, then 14, etc, lol) I had trouble with pants that fit in the thigh gaping at the waist. For work, I really just don't wear slacks at all because of this and wear dresses and skirts. For jeans, I recently discovered an awesome brand that is cut for curvier bodies that works with my bigger thighs. It's CJ by Cookie Johnson. They are expensive (over $100), but you can get them at really good prices on 6pm.com. I've also heard that you can find them often at Nordstrom Rack.

Jeans that are curvy fit will be your best friend. Loft, Eddie Bauer and Gap all have this cut that are smaller in the waist but more generous in the thigh/bottom area. They ALWAYS have sales so I don't ever pay full price. Also, I have good luck with Tommy Hilfiger jeans from Macy's. If you like t-shirts, try knit tops that have some embellishment and are fitted. I find them dressier and more age appropriate than t-shirts but just as comfy. Blouses are also a good option for a business causal wardrobe. You can also try bootcut pants/khakis. The stores I mentioned also have a curvy fit in trousers that will probably work. If you find pants that fit in the thighs but are too big in the waist, you can take them to a tailor and have the waist taken in for about $10-15. It makes a world of difference especially for more expensive jeans and dress pants. Accessories also help to make an outfit. You can get them anywhere and they are not expensive. Good luck!
