Hello! I am looking to try to get some false lashes for a wedding - I've never applied these before and am hoping someone can steer me in a good direction--should I get pieces or full lashes? Any specific brands that are easy to apply? Thanks! Karen
I like styles 110 and 135 the best. The 110s I have to trim but the 135s fit my eye width perfect.
I suggest you definitely practice! It took me a few times to get it down plus it just takes a bit to get used to the feeling after they are on. Although if you do it right, you honestly shouldn't be able to feel them.
I personally hold off on putting my eye makeup until after the lashes are on. I've messed up too many times and it's too much of a pain to have to redo everything. I start by placing the lashes on the outermost part of my eye then (if it's my left eye) use my left hand to pull my eyelid tight so it's fully stretched and my opposite hand to finish applying the lashes. I will continue to hold my eyelid tight a few seconds as it dries. I've found this helps distribute the glue evenly and have the lashes feel comfy.
Also, I've heard to let the glue dry a bit, until it gets tacky then it is easier to apply the lashes. I haven't tried this yet but I will next time I need to wear falsies. LOL
I love Ardell and have been recommended that one many times by professional makeup artists. I also like the DUO glue (sold at Sephora, but cheaper at Target)
The lady who did my wedding makeup said individual pieces are more natural, but yeah, that is torture trying to attempt that.
I buy the Ardell full lashes, trim them, and then add the glue. I wait 1-2 minutes to really get it tacky. The trick is to put it RIGHT underneath your lid and onto the lashes directly.
I think Pinterest may have some decent tutorials.
Also, here's all the different versions of Ardell via a random Pinner:
