What is something that you see often in S&B blogs that bugs you?
Mine is when a blogger posts a makeup swatch picture and there is clearly body hair in the pic. It grosses me out, and is totally unnecessary. Swatch that shit on the inside of your arm or back of your hand so I don't have to see a close up of your body hair. Something just skeeves me out about seeing extreme close ups of hair that is smeared with gloss or something. I realize this might be a really stupid pet peeve, lol.
An example (which is not even close to the grossest I've seen)
I think I've mentioned this before, but I hate when the writer has giveaways all.the.damn.time.
It just comes off as, "I need page views!" Especially if it's a "designer" S&B blog and you're giving away something random 4 new bottles of Drugstore mouthwash. Ha.
I've mentioned it before, but when they post a haul video or review of several products but don't list those items in the post. Sometimes, I can't or don't have time to watch the video, but still want to know what you bought. Just list them underneath, please!
9 pictures of the exact same shot, with slight variations in stance. Picking up your hand and giggling or gazing off at something on the other side of the room is NOT giving me a new view of your outfit. There's one blogger in particular who is a constant offender and it drives. me. insane. 2-3 shots is PLENTY.
This. I hate seeing the same outfit and pose 6 times. It doesn't change your outfit.
I don't follow makeup blogs because I can't handle the swatch photos. I don't want to see anyone's skin that up close. Plus, the colors on you will look WAY different on me.

I like seeing makeup on someone's face. Seeing swatches if it on someone's arm doesn't really do me any good.

yeah, think I said this that last time we had one of these threads. it get's me every time!

yes. this. and there's one blogger in particular whose eyes look really creepy when she looks to the side and I wish she would stop doing it.
I'm totally guilty of infrequent posting, lately. And I feel so bad! Between Italy, the move, and work, it's just been so hard to write good posts.
I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things soon.
My pet peeve is when bloggers don't reply to their comments. It's like, "Hey, I just took the time to write on your blog and compliment you. The least u could do is reply back!"
Blurry photos and filler posts. I'd rather a blogger just not post than post crap. And learn to work a camera!!! DSLR =/= good pictures. I know from experience. I take crappy pictures w/ my DSLR all the time, but I delete the duds and only keep the good ones.
I haven't updated my blog in MONTHS b/c there is nothing interesting to put in it, except that I've gained weight. Maybe I should start up again and chronicle my get-in-shape journey...
Oh, I have another one. If a million people request a specific tutorial, that isn't hard to do, do it! I love Surely Sonsy. It's my favorite personal style blog. She does this awesome updo often and has hair the length of mine, so I sent her a message that it would be really cool to see a tutorial. She didn't respond, and that's fine. But then after reading her blog more, I find that a tutorial on the updo is requested all the time. She mentions this a couple times. So do the freaking tutorial!! Isn't the point of a blog to make your readers happy and give them helpful information?
(and, really, the reason I'm so bent out of shape is because I just really want to know how to do that updo. It's pretty and I'd love to learn how to do it since there aren't that many ways I know to wear medium length hair up)
GoDawgs, that's too funny, because I follow Surely Sonsy and I hate when she wears her hair like that! Every time she does the retro updo I assume her hair is dirty and why didn't she just wear it down, since it looks so much better.

HA HA HA! Well, maybe it's better that I didn't learn how to do the updo, then. lol. She has recently been doing it really poufy on the top, which I don't like.

I'm ditto'ing two things pp's mentioned.
I'm not a fan of the same outift in several different poses. 2-3 pics max are perfect.
I'm also not a big fan of vlogs (video blog posts) because like natablue mentioned, I usually don't have the time to watch the video, or if I'm at work I can't hear it. I much prefer pictures and if you do a video, that the poster lists out the products below.
I adore verona, but I agree that her outfit pics are excessive. If you scroll kinda fast, it's like a flip book. Not necessary. Maybe a shot from the front & the back (which is never done on fashion blogs), but no need for the entire repertoire of common fashion blogger poses.
Yes. There are others that do it too, but I was specifically referring to her. She's gotten slightly better in recent posts, I guess.
ha! but yes... exactly who I was thinking of
yes, me too. And Verona, as long as you're reading, your photos of you looking to the side are often a bit creepy when just the whites of your eyes are showing. not sure if I'm describing what I'm referring to very well. I'd scroll through your blog to find an example, but yeah, the 9,000 pictures thing...
