I hope more news is still to come! You both are so amazing! I am praying so hard that the shunt is not needed. I hope you both get some rest tonight. <3
Wow, that is so stressful - but glad the update was good and I'm so glad things are going in the right direction. Will keep thinking good thoughts for her. Hugs!

fryjack2 I know you've told me before, but it sounds like you know your stuff with this. Her surgeon wasn't in today, but I know the surgeon who saw her this morning is familiar with her medical history. He seemed ready to discharge her, but I brought up our surgeon wanting to do the shunt if the drain results weren't favorable. So he said he'd call her to get her plan. She still has some fluid on the side though and I'm wondering if that normally reabsorbs. Most of the nurse and the one surgeon seemed unconcerned with the fluid, but that was our original issue and it just gets worse. I'm just wondering if the drain could fix that reabsorption issue or if it's the same issue.
I'm going to ask all these questions when I see the doctor next. I'm just thinking out loud kind of.

Yes, sometimes it does. As much as it stinks, its a wait and see kind of game. Some people will need a shunt and some won't.
Hang in there! E is doing amazing and you are doing a great job advocating for her and wanting to understand each step of what's going on. (hug)kandrze1 (hug2)
